Traveling from Fayetteville, NC to Augusta, GA and looked for restaurants in or near Florence, SC. Tubbs Seafood showed up as a top 10 in Florence so we decided to try it. It is about 6 miles off I-95, and you would never find it by driving by or just off an exit, but it is worth the trip. Old converted gas station with an additional screened patio. This is not a fancy place. It’s very local, which is great. Only about 10 tables during COVID, with a wait, but they have call ahead seating which is what we did, and waited about 5 minutes when we arrived at 7:45 p.m. on a Saturday night.
She crab soup was delicious!
We both ordered the “fried choose 2 with 2 sides.” Fried shrimp and fried oysters came 6 each on the plate. Not greasy at all. Shrimp and CrabCake on the other. CrabCake was very meaty. They have shrimp and grits with andouille sausage and a variety of other items as well. Very reasonable pricing.

I had a shrimp PoBoy and my husband had a bowl of the She Crab soup and salad. My PO Boy was so fresh and delish tasting and the soup and salad we good, soup slightly salty, but that was just his taste may not be for everyone. I am from the south and sweet tea is very important to me and this did not disappoint!!! I did want to try the sweet potato cheesecake with pecan praline topping that the waiter really talked up but then he came out to say the bakery hadn’t delivered it for the day...what a let down, because not only do I like sweet tea but also dessert!!! No matter the time of day. This was off the interstate by about 8 miles but if you can make the time go..

We did not know what to expect and were overwhelmed! the place was packed so we decided to wait at the bar which is a half-sized Air Flo trailer with wonderful waitresses. We watch them make the most imaginative drinks (a fish bowl drink with gummy fish in it) and a key lime pie shot! While there the owner came by and recommended the Oysters Rockefeller Po Boy and the Shrimp and Grits with sausage and Etouffe sauce. DELICIOUS! Wonderful food and service and an interesting configuration of buildings!

Small and unassuming but with fantastic food and friendly service. This restaurant does not take reservations but we called ahead and were seated immediately. We were greeted by the owner. When we told him the she crab soup was one of the best we had ever had, he said it was his grandfather’s recipe. I was so glad I ordered a bowl. The hush puppies were warm and crisp and the key lime pie was delicious. My husband enjoyed the combo platter. We highly recommend this locally popular restaurant to travelers.

Great She Crab Soup! We stopped in for lunch and had 2 cups of she crab soup along with hush puppies and crab Rangoon. Soup and hush puppies were very good. I had never tried their crab Rangoon so I ordered it. To me it was ok but I would get something different next time. Excellent service from Sarah, our server.

On our way back to Florida from Outer Banks. We obviously ate our fair share of seafood during stay in OBX. Tubbs didn’t disappoint! Rich creamy she crab soup. I suggest you share. We shared fried (of course) platter of shrimp (2 perfect) oysters(amazing) scallops(tiny)crab cake (all crab meat,no filler)and fish(large piece) the grits(very thick)and cole slaw (vinegar based) great sweet tea and friendly waitress. Definitely worth the short detour!

We were on a visit to Florence and searched online for a seafood restaurant. Tubb's Shrimp and Fish had great reviews on Trip Advisor and a menu that whetted our appetite, so we ventured forth and had a wonderful experience. The decor is simple. It is not fancy. But the food is great and the prices are reasonable. They do not take reservations, but you can call about 15 minutes prior to arrival to get placed on their wait list which may expedite your seating. There are two dining areas, inside and the enclosed "deck". While both are air conditioned, we were told that the inside is cooler--good to know on a very hot day.
Caroline was our waitress and was fantastic. She is constantly smiling and in a pleasant, engaging mood. She was informative and attentive. Other staff members assisted during our stay and all were friendly, helpful, and efficient.
We started with Bang Bang Shrimp which was delicious and then the She Crab Soup which was great. The Shrimp and Grits was very good as were platters of Flounder and Scallops and of Oysters and Flounder. The fish can be fried, broiled, grilled, or blackened. The platters came with a choice of two sides. There are non-seafood choices available for those in a group who prefer something else.
The restaurant isn't huge but seems to work efficiently. I heartily recommend the food and service.

We had two out of town guest that wanted good seafood. I took them to tubbs because of past good meals. Turned out to be real disappointing. Ceiling fans couldn't be turned off because waitress said nobody knew how and the temp was 60 degrees. Prices on the menu were wrong and very low compared to the final bill. Three of us had broiler flounder, which came out as mush fish. Crab cakes were bread patties with almost no crab in them. Raw oysters were over 2 dollars a piece. Cocktails were highest I ever had and equal to airport terminal prices.

Not sure how this is the number one ranked restaurant in Florence. They were the very definition of average. I had the Flounder Po Boy (average). My wife had the Mexican Hushpuppies (average), Root Vegetables (average), and the Collard Greens. The greens had a chance to be a little above average, had they not been so insanely over salted. We also ordered Sweet Potato Pie, which (upon arriving back to our hotel room) we realized they didn't give us. Fortunately, they didn't charge us for it either. No need to return.

I would like to think of ourselves as “ fish aficionados “ being from Alaska and with that noted...High Praise for Tubbs. The grilled Mahi was cooked perfectly, the She Crab soup tasted like more, the hush puppies were yummy and bang bang shrimp appetizer with fresh coleslaw was a hit. Our waitress, Taylor, was friendly and attentive. Locals and visitors alike...don’t miss this little gem.

What a delicious seafood gem on our trip back north! We had been traveling for 9 hours and decided that going a little out of our way off I95 might be worth it after reading Tubb’s Shrimp and Fish Co.’s reviews. Let me tell you, the place did not disappoint!
My husband and I started with the lightly and crisply breaded fried green tomatoes that melted in our mouths and scrumptious sweet and spicy bang bang shrimp. I ordered the grilled combo platter with crab cake, oysters, and scallops and it was among the best I’ve ever had. I opted for the grilled squash and hoppin’ John, (beans, bacon, tomatoes and rice) sides that were delightfully delicious. My husband very much enjoyed his broiled seafood platter with waffle fries and coleslaw - all exquisitely prepared.
What we really enjoyed was that we did not have to dress up to go to Tubbs and even though at 7:30, we’d have a half hour wait, we decided to eat on the enclosed deck at the bar and couldn’t have asked for a better service, eating almost immediately. The bartender, Christine was extremely helpful explaining the dishes and sides on the menu. It was obvious that she and her coworker, (sorry, didn’t get her name), loved their jobs. We were introduced to the owner, Kyle Hardee, who even though was hard at work helping to serve and keep the packed restaurant moving smoothly, talked to us for at least 10 minutes.
We couldn’t be more pleased with our experience and highly recommend Tubb’s to anyone wanting a delightful seafood experience.

This is our “ go to” restaurant when in Florence, S.C. They serve fresh and deliciously prepared seafood at very reasonable prices. The portions are very generous. We had the Scallops, Crab Cakes and Flounder with seasoned fries, creamy Cole slaw and a very tasty squash. And hush puppies too. Service is very friendly . This is a really great neighbor hood place.

Husband and I were headed back north after a visit down south and stopped to get a room in Florence. Asked gentlemen at the front desk for a good place to eat. He directed us to Tubb’s. This place is so good. We got fried green tomatoes (my first time) they were lightly coated and seasoned just right. I don’t know what type of sauce normally comes with it but their sauce is yummy. Husband got grilled flounder, collard greens and grilled squash. The flounder was seasoned well and moist. I could eat their grilled squash all day. So good. I had fried shrimp. Those fried shrimp has been the best shrimp I have had in a long time. Kyle the owner came over and talked to us. Genuine and just super nice guy. Keep up the good work. The wait staff are all super friendly and informative. Wish we lived closer. When we drive down south this winter, we will be back.

Fast, tasty, hot, and even the SMALL order of oysters I ordered was plenty of food. I was out of town on a business trip and I hate eating by myself. I felt very comfortable here. Food was so good I got the shrimp and grits to go to eat for lunch tomorrow. Can't wait for lunch.:)

Spending the night in Florence, we wanted a nice dinner before a show at FMU PAC and chose Tubbs after reading the reviews,.A casual setting with serious seafood. I loved my shrimp and grits and hubby was pleased with the seafood mac and cheese. A little timing issue left us without our hush puppies appy and the kitchen was out of sweet potato cheesecake despite it being early on a Saturday evening. So there was that. But overall, a decent experience.
