My wife and I were on a short 4-day getaway at Edisto Beach and found Whaley's thanks to local word-of-mouth; this throwback bar/restaurant certainly lived up to local hype! My wife raved over her crab cakes, a house specialty, and my burger was above-average. As I like hot, spicy food, I'd asked our server if Whaley's had sliced jalapenos; unfortunately,... More

My wife & I decided to try Whaley's for the first time in a year. This is really a local dive & that is one of the things that makes this place unique. My wife had the pan seared mahi which she really enjoyed. I had shrimp & grits which was good, not great. The side of cabbage was very... More

You get what you order but it nothing fancy. Limited seating. Restrooms are separate from the dining area…you have to go outside to get to them.

Way overpriced for what you get. mine and my wife's ticket was almost $70 with tip. I got the shrimp and oysters which was maybe 7 shrimp and 7 oysters. I ended up throwing it up that night. Very disappointed

i was trying to be optimistic about this bar despite the mixed reveiews. this was a very disappointing place for drinks and appetizers. I liked my drink but it was over priced, everyone else at my table was disappointed with their drinks. the homemade potato chips were good, one friend got a dessert and hated it. the service was poor,... We stopped in on a late Saturday afternoon thinking we would beat the crowd. We were seated right away in a booth at the window that was wore out. The floor was nasty with used napkins all over the floor. The waitress was nice and attentive and got our drink order quickly. I ordered the supposedly famous hamburger and my... More

We went to Whaley's based on the suggestion of another vacationer at the pool. It was always their destination when on Edisto for crabcakes. We ordered ours to go and we're glad we did. While waiting for our order we turn around to see a large USC Gamecock Flag hanging on the wall. This is not a wise business decision.... More

It's not fancy, but the food is excellent, staff is very on point. Can be loud, but it's a bar... I've been there 3-4 times, and have had a good experience each time. One strange thing, the bathrooms are outside the main bar, but giving it used to be a gas station, that may have something to do with it.
