We went early on Wednesday evening. Service was very attentive. The fried oyster appetizer and salad were very good to excellent. My wife ordered the oyster skillet for the entree. Very disappointing. Little more than oysters insalt water and a hint of garlic. The shrimp scallops and grits were much better. She pronounced the seafood gumbo ( the whim of... More

This place doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside. Inside is small and quaint. We had the upstairs to ourselves with a our dinner party. Waitress and staff were very nice and accommodating. They did not have high chairs for kids. They had a piano upstairs with us. The staff allowed one of our family members play on which... More

Our last night at Edisto we had heard a lot of good comments about this place. Small great place...call for reservations..even on off night Tuesday there were 3 big groups. Our service was great and very friendly. We had heard about their shrimp and grits.....best on the island!!! We shared a dessert of chocolate caramel pecan cake.....amazing. If you want... More

My husband had the ribeye which he said was amazing. My shrimp and scallops grits were delicious as usual. We have never had a bad meal and our service is always outstanding. We always look forward to eating there when visiting Edisto.

Was at The Old Post Office for a late spring wedding dinner..smallish wedding. The upstairs bar is cozy and cute..but with a large crowd a bit snug..but the drinks are nice and strong and the young island bartenders are fun and friendly. Downstairs is where the restaurant seating is located. It is amnice atmosphere... as it use to be the... More

Portions small. My martini was half a normal size. Once the ticket was brought, the service disappeared. I was disappointed. Food was good, but the experience average.

Long overdue visit to The Post Office Restaurant. The dining room is airy and well decorated - a mix of old and new. The food is excellent, from the warm bread served shortly after we sat down to the fabulous desserts - there were no complaints (but maybe a small suggestion - see below) at our table of eight. Service... More

We were fortunate to be able to dine here twice this week. As always the food, atmosphere and service were all outstanding! Inevitably, we also have the pleasure to talk with other loyal fans on at least one of our visits. These are customers like us who have been coming here for years and have a special place in their... This is our go to high end restaurant. Never disappointed. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu or the nightly specials. Good wine list and we always get 2 desserts to split at the end. Hope I'm going there when I'm 90.

We will not be visiting The Old Post Office just due to the fact of the attitude of the hostess, owner, waitor, whatever he was. On our way back into Edisto from our Charleston day trip we stopped by the restaurant to grab a menu to take home with us, just to see what kind of food was on there... More

kward_bcorbin All of our menus are posted in the mail box at our entrance for pickup as well as in our front window. Just so you have both sides of the story there was no snuff of the nose, attitude or snatching of anything as I politely directed her to the mail box out front. Thank you. More
