A great burger and a good time

We followed the recommendations of past reviewers and had the burgers. They were right too . Definitely one of the best burgers anywhere. They put the cheese and grilled onions and then I went to the buffet for other uncooked toppings. It's a serve yourself restaurant but the girls (they were young ladies) were so friendly and helpful you didn't mind at all. And of course we had the brownie sundae for dessert. This was definitely a two person sundae after the burger and fries we had just finished. What makes this burger joint different is the atmosphere. There are bibles on each table and a Prayer Board to write a message requesting prayers for someone. If you are in the neighborhood, you definitely should try Steve's. Even if you are not nearby, take the time to go. You will definitely enjoy your meal.

Don’t pass on this PLACE!

Our family was headed back to OH from a fabulous week on HHI and the one food I didn’t indulge in that I suddenly wanted so bad was an awesome burger. After reading some Google reviews of great non-chain places that wouldn’t take us too far out of our way, Steve’s was decided on. My husband and I both ordered Classics and right after wish we would’ve did the 1/2 pounder. The beef melts in your mouth and is seasoned so perfectly. I splurged for chili cheese fries to take away the pain from vacation ending and I was not upset with the choice. I wish we had room for ice cream, but we did take some peach cobbler to go (grabbed the last serving of the day) which I enjoyed on and off on rest of the drive home. Extra special touch which has nothing to do with the food and everything to do with the integrity of the owners: chalk Prayer board and Bibles on each table. LOVED everything about this place and we will stop back every time we are on our way back from HHI!

Keeping The Faith...

Took my daughter here for supper during the "COVID Crisis" Went here on a "Twofer Tuesday". She and I had the 1/3lb "classic" burgers while I added a cheesesteak while she added fried mushrooms. She agreed with me on the excellence of the food, And, the speed of the service. The fixins bar had both gloves and hand sanitizer. For everything else, please see my earlier review. The only thing that's changed is something for the better: The size of the sign on the building. The only criticism I have is the early closing. Hopefully, the day will come when he'll keep it open until 9 PM. The pricing here is an excellent value. Summary: You have to eat here!

Great place for dinner and desert

A group of us on a motorcycle road trip stopped here for dinner one night. Wasn't exactly sure what to expect when we walked in and saw Bibles on every table, but was surprised to find a business that held onto their believes without slapping the patrons in the face with them. The staff in both Steve's, and the attached ice cream parlor, were friendly and helpful. The burger I ordered was cooked perfectly and tasted great. We even went and grabbed a sundae afterwards and that turned out to be very good. So if you are the type that gets offended easily by someone's religious beliefs, this place might trigger you. However if you enjoy a really good burger served by a friendly staff in a relaxing atmosphere, definitely try here.

West Columbia Is Foodie Heaven!

West Columbia is one of the few places I've been where I've yet to get a bad meal. Everything everywhere has been excellent. Steve's Classic Burgers is a part of that excellence. An unfortunate set of curcumstances had me in West Columbia when I hadn't planned to be there. I decided that since I had no choice, I might as well make the best of it with a stop at Steve's! This time around, I decided to have the cheesesteak. This is quite a lot of food! Come hungry! It took me a while to down it all. I also had the fried onion rings instead of the fried mushroom. Apparently the supply problems have hit Steve's, as well. So, I had the onion rings instead of the mushrooms. They are indeed worthy. The fried mushrooms are apparently expected back as there's a blank piece of paper over their spot on the menu board. As usual, the quality was first rate. As was the service. Fast & friendly! Steve's consinues to be the gold standard others seem to strive for. He walks the walk! The only "problem" I have with Steve's is that it's not (yet?) a chain. Quality this gfood shouldn't be limited to a single location. Summation: Upgrading to a "must".

Stopped for lunch on our way through town. Tucked back a bit off the road so keep your eye out for it as it is worth the stop! Plenty of parking. You order as you come in, get your own drinks, and they call your number when your order is ready. They also offer a condiment bar to dress your burgers however you like. Bibles on each table or booth for your use, as well as Christian music playing. A very calm and clean setting that appears to be a local favorite. Staff were all friendly. Food was tasty. Prices were not bad. Keep up the great work!

Good Burger…could have been better.

good burger, but a couple things I don’t like. The most serious offense, They don’t toast the bun, this creates a serious burger problem. A problem know as “Soggy Bun”. A lite toasting or grilling would help a lot. The second thing is a condiment station….I watched a kid finger about eight slices of tomato…gross. Another thing I sort of have a problem with, is this place is preachy. Bible on the table, prayer walls, nut case duck dynasty guy with religious quotes. That’s odd crap to me. Overall I thought the burger was good, could have been great. Crinkle cut fries were just ok, nothing special. I probably won’t come back, these aren’t the kind of folks who listen to change.

Glad you liked our burger. As far as the toasting of the bun, with as many as we put out, it would be time consuming to toast all of them. BUT, we will always toast the buns if requested. I am sorry about the kids touching the tomatoes. I hope my worker changed them out then you told them. You did tell them, right? Preachy. No apology. This is God's restaurant, and it will be for His glory as long as it is open. Interesting you know me so well as to whether I listen to "change".

Taste’s Like Daddy’s Sizzle Burgers

I never thought I would ever taste anything like my Daddy’s sizzle burgers but Steve’s NAILS it!! We’ve eaten there many times, it’s wonderful. The environment is peaceful and safe, almost like dining at home. Thank you Steve’s for all that you all do!!

Well, this place has nothing on Hardee's. $12.50 out the door. Peeps we're nice. 1/4th lbs meat was good...bun was good...toppings were good. But, I will take a Frisco Burger any day. The hands down winner of best of the best is Johnnys Cheese Burger House in 96 SC.

Not a Bad Burger

This place has really good burgers. You wouldn’t expect that going into the establishment because it needs an update. But the burgers pact a good flavor. They have a topping bar which gives you the ability to put in what and how much you want. I do wish there was more options but I can’t complain too much. Heads up: they charge for water. Not the end of the world, but would have been nice to know since a lot of restaurants don’t charge for water.

Thank you for your review!! We appreciate it! We do what we can to keep our prices low. Part is not spending a lot of money upgrading someone else's building. We all know, those costs get passed on to customers via higher prices. Another way is, with the high cost of supplies now, we try to cover the cost of a glass of water by charging 25 cents. Again, we are very glad you enjoyed your burger. Come see us again.

Steve's is noted for their great burgers but my wife and I love the Philly steak sandwiches. Very clean place, large selection of food. Snow's Ice Cream is on connected side of Steve's. We go there for banana splits after eating our sandwiches. great people, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Take Out Dinner

What can you say other than Steve’s has the very best hamburgers in greater Columbia. A Christian diner that has many food options. Also, they have an old fashioned fixing bar. They have daily specials & are closed on Sundays. Definitely recommend and will definitely return.

Excellent Lunch!!

First time visiting, and I must say... I enjoyed the experience. Greeted by a smiling friendly young lady working the register. I had the daily lunch special burger with fries/drink and enjoyed it. The freshness and taste of the burger stood out. Liked the bar where you could add toppings to your desire. Daughter had the 4 piece chicken tenders. Very good size and it was real chicken- tasty. Clean, family, local owned restaurant, Loved the Bibles at each table- a great witness to society. Plenty of parking with easy access from the interstate. I will be back

Just as good and getting better...

I really enjoy this place and they treat us really well. We are regular customers and they recently moved. The new location is bigger and friendlier to customers. Go check it out. Appetizers are very good. Good onion rings. Great tasting burgers. I'd like the fries left down maybe 30 seconds longer...but they are still exceptional. Just go try it out...you won't regret it.

Stopped here before driving through the craziness of Columbia. Not bad. Average prices. We were all talking about how much the restaurant looked like a former church. Ice cream parlor connected, so you can get dessert there.
