we ate outside on the balcony. the service was top notch as was the dinner. the menu, while small, has something for everyone. we are one carnivore and one pescatarian, though that evening i ordered the vegetarian special, which was delicious. as was the filet....we were too full for desert, but that too sounded special. I was surprised this gem is in an odd location above a starbucks and facing the main street - so the view is nothing special, though there is a lovely miniature park below beyond the parking lot.More

On the positive side the service was very good and the cocktails tasty. However, all the food dishes were terrible. The oyster appetizer used a Sriracha sauce and breading that succeeded in masking the taste of the oysters. We tried to salvage the dish by...removing the breading and avoiding the sauce. My pork chop was large but over cooked and dry. The corn side was tasty but the large piece of broccoli was over salted. My spouse’s fillet mignon lacked taste suggesting a cut you would find in a grocery store. All in all, a very disappointing dining experience from an establishment that has a better reputation.More

Not the best during this trip. Dinner on a Saturday nite with family. One waiter had the whole room. He was working hard but it was hard to keep up. From the reviews, which I am trusting less these days, I expected a better quality place....Salmon for two of us and a ribeye for the other. Salmon was done the way we asked as well as the ribeye. Wait for food was too long. Indicated in the reservation was a birthday, But we had to remind server a couple times. So all in all an average place. Not really value for moneyMore

We visited Saluda's on a recommendation from our server at California Dreaming. I had no idea that there was a restaurant this lovely and beautiful in Five Points! When I attended college at U of SC, I never even noticed that Saluda's was there but...wow, what an incredible recommendation and surprise! We were seated outside to watch an incredible South Carolina sunset and the evening was so beautiful! Everyone was so friendly and our server was incredible. The bottle of wine that we selected was out of stock, so a gentleman suggested a different bottle with the offer to price match and he did NOT disappoint! What a treat to discover a new bottle of wine that my husband and I really liked instead of sticking with an old favorite! We shared a cheese board and he had the halibut and I had that evening's pasta special. Everything was delicious, everyone we encountered was so helpful and accommodating and the outside terrace was just beautiful. I will be back, without a doubt, the next time that I visit Columbia!More

The cocktails, the dinner, the wine selection, the staff, the FOOOD - All of this was just perfect. It was a celebratory dinner and this experience made the night and its purpose perfect. Thanks to Owner and his personal touch, his staff and chef. Reservations...definitely recommended!More

The patio was perfect for dinner - the fixed menu had great options. Cocktails, appetizers, salads and filet mignon were perfection!

I made a reservation here several weeks in advance. We dined here on a Saturday evening around 6:30 p.m. We arrived a bit before our time slot, as we were unfamiliar with the area. The restaurant is located in the '5 points' area of Columbia,...roughly a mile (or less) from the state capitol building and downtown. There is quite a bit of street parking in the immediate area. We were able to find a space nearby and walked back to the restaurant. The only thing that confused me was that it wasn't obvious (from driving by) where the restaurant was located. It didn't seem to match what was shown on phone-app maps. It turned out that the restaurant occupies the top floor of a building (the bottom being a Starbuck's). You enter via a door at ground-level and ascend the stairs to the restaurant. The evening we at there was chilly. The balcony/porch was open for dining and had heaters, but we opted to dine inside. This was a good choice, as those sitting outside kept their coats on! Inside, the space has hardwood floors and a large bar. Service was prompt. We split a salad. I got a beef filet while my wife opted for a pork chop. The food was tasty. There were no real negatives about our experience. If I were in the area again, I'd consider this place for a special occasion meal.More

THIS is one of the nicest restaurants in town, well located and with a beautiful deck upstairs for dinning. Service is ok, well mannered but TOO INVASIVE Constantly coming to the table asking questions and interrupting. however the food was not up to it, didn’t...meet expectations, as it happened several times in the past. We first ordered a cheese appetizer and it came with three minute pieces of cheese that could be OK for one or two not hungry people but definitely not to share. The entrees were a disappointment. Three out of four people. Could not finished the entries, it was bad very bad. It was fettuccine, it was overcooked, full of meatballs full of mozzarella balls, the meat was very bad quality and very bad taste terrible even for a meat lover, the sauce was brown and heavy, red onions not fully cooked, in short, it was too hearty and they just put together Things with no idea how to cook pasta or anything. Very difficult to digest we ordered it thinking that it would be a lighter dish. And that was for the Modic price of $30. One person ordered halibut and that was good, quite decent size of fish, good quality, well done and the risotto was tasty and good. So, if you really have to go to this place Or want to go, be prepared to pay a lot of money and not eat well. We will not be coming back.More

Great ambiance and great food. Saluda’s is a great place for private events - they are most accommodating and easy to work with.
