I just love that their menu is hand written every day! There is so much personality to this place, every time you go there the experience is different. The food and cocktails are amazing and the ambiance makes for a great date night. I would keep the kiddos at home--the food is pretty funky and not really kid friendly.

No wait for seating on a Saturday afternoon, for lunch for four. The art work is interesting in every room, including the amazing hostess stand at the entrance. Our waitress was friendly and efficient, and kindly took our photo so we could have a memory of this lunch with old friends. I loved the quarter chicken with mashed sweet potatoes... More

For appetisers we enjoyed a salad that was very good and a cheeseboard that was excellent The problems came with the duck duo dish. The confit leg and thigh were far too salty; the green beans were lukewarm and the puree was cold. The sensible server asked how things were and was immediately understanding and proactive in offering alternative dishes... More

The steak was delicious (even though I was disappointed they didn't have a filet on the days menu.) I got the cowboy bone in ribeye and it was delicious. The staff was also very family friendly. I would recommend if you are in Columbia for any reason!

Outstanding food, great atmosphere. This place is a little hidden. It's very easy to walk right past it and never know it was there, but once you find it, the food was amazing. Very nice staff also. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures, we were too busy enjoying our food. Prices are reasonable for the food that you get. With... More

My wife and I had a great dinner last evening at this fun little bistro. This is a local farm to table restaurant with a hand written menu that changes daily. The beet salad was delicious and I had shrimp and grits and my wife had striped bass. Both were very good. For dessert we shared a peanut butter pie... More

The best food in a long while! We travel quite a bit and this was our best meal in SC! I had the Duck Duo and my husband had the steak colette. The duck confit leg was delicious. My husbands steak was cooked to perfection! Our wait staff, Ashley took very good care of us! We will make the trip... More

This was my first visit to this restaurant. The food was great, prepared just right ! I had the pork chop which was moist and cooked to perfection. If I have a downer about this place is the noise . Despite the ceiling baffles it's really hard to have a conversation.

Motor Supply Bistro has been around for a long time. It is hidden down an alley but easy to find. The menu is hand written because they use fresh ingredients for their meals. What they do with these is always WONDERFUL. The bartender was on vacation last time we went but he is a master at his craft. Sorry we... More

Description
Located in the historic Congaree Vista with a heated patio and free valet parking, Motor Supply has been serving progressive, New World cuisine using classic French culinary techniques for over 20 years. Led by Executive Chef Wesley Fulmer, the kitchen's lunch, dinner and brunch handwritten menus change daily, featuring contemporary New American cuisine, with nods to Creole, Cajun, New Southern, French, Italian and Asian cuisine. We are Columbia's foremost "farm to fork" restaurant, working with local, sustainable farms for produce, meats, SC seafood and more. Seafood is caught off of the Carolina coast, and all of our stocks, sauces and desserts are made on site, including our charcuterie, with house-made sausages, bacon, country pate, and rillettes, all the way down to the pickles and mustard. Our early 19th century, solid-oak bar with marble columns, imported from Europe, serves 180+ fine wines (Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence, 2006-12), an extensive list of imported, domestic and local craft beers, as well as an artisan farm-to-shaker cocktail list made from house-infused liquors, handmade bitters, barrel-aged spirits and locally-sourced ingredients and garnishes.
