We stopped by after being turned away due to Ceasars Head being at capacity. The sandwich was fine and the service was fine. Nothing spectacular. I asked a few basic questions about Ceasars Head (this place is located directly beside it) and the response i...got was "we aren't affiliated with the park." I understood that but to pay $6.00 for a ham sandwich (no chips or drink) and getting a snarky answer was a bit shocking.More

The convenience of this restaurant to the attractions nearby could not be better. The owners and staff are the best, super friendly. The menu was mostly sandwiches, a short list of sides, ice cream and fudge.

We were excited to try out this place after learning there was a new restaurant in it on here. I had a Reuben and a cup of soup, both were delicious and tasted healthy (as could), the soup was not overly salty or greasy, and...the Reuben was on toasted rye rather than fried. The corned beef was also pretty lean. My husband enjoyed his two chili hot dogs. We got a half thing of fudge, wasn’t necessary because we were both quite full. I’m not a huge fudge fan, but it was good!More

Came across the divine little spot on our drive. Very friend young lady at the counter. Delicious fudge and great food. We had the Pimento cheese sandwich and a Turkey BLT. Both where fresh and delicious. Really was surprised as to how tasty the Pimento...cheese sandwich was. Highly recommend it. Drove a little bit up the Mountain and eat at the lookout. Perfect!More

I live nearby and frequent this restaurant often. It is under new ownership as of 2019 wth a new menu and new personnel. It is quite charming with good food and nice folks running it. I have not had anything that was not very good....We who live on the mountain are happy they are here.More

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. The staff was welcoming and professional. The food was excellent and price was fair. We will definitely go back again.

Absolutely delicious cook-to-order food that really hit the spot after a long hike in DuPont State Forest. They also offered ice cream, fudge and other baked goods that looked yummy. Located on the side of the road in a pretty wooded setting.

After hiking for several hours in Caesars Head State Park, my family was hungry for lunch. The Mountain House is just a few hundred yards away from the guest information center of the park. We did not want to wait to drive down the mountain...and find food, so we gave it a try. New ownership had just reopened the restaurant a few days before our visit. Everyone was super friendly and eagerly answered our questions. The owner even went in the back and brought out an entire pie to show my wife after she had inquired about the ingredients. I had the club sandwich, my son a chicken salad sandwich and my wife a hot dog with chili. All came with a choice of chips. The food was delicious and fresh. We sat outside at one of the picnic tables and enjoyed the beautiful weather. There are also several tables indoors. The place had a lovely charm, and the staff made us feel very welcome — overall an excellent place for lunch.More

Stopped here after hiking at Caesars Head. Looking at the limited food options, we decided to eat at a restaurant only a few miles toward Brevard. However, having heard about their fudge, we gave it a try. I must say, it is probably the best...fudge I've ever had and well worth the stop if you like fudge.More
