Not sure what the fuss is about. Decent average food- maybe we ordered poorly? Chicken salad was good but a small portion with very sparse pecans and craisins (really? In SC in October? Pecans are in season and grapes are easy to come by!). The...homemade croissant was very good. The Sis sandwich was fine. The salad bar is in no way extensive as one review claims- very basic. Very few choices for vegetarian or gluten free but we can eat. We heard great things about the desserts but we were underwhelmed by the choices- a few cakes and cookies. We didn’t try anything. May return to try dinner but maybe not. Oh, and it is no where near a river- I was really hoping for a river front scene.More

The only vegetarian options are the sides,$3 each. I ordered a baked potato that was very dry and overcooked. The lime beans and mixed veggies came in a 3 or 4 ounce souffle cup, they were just ok. At 630 They were out of several entrees...that others in the party ordered and it's a very limited menu.No water refills were offered. There was also an issue with an overcharge at the register, that was only caught because we asked for an itemized receipt Nobody at the table left satisfiedMore

We were just passing through Cheraw and stopped in after visiting the state park. The sweetest employees ever! We had a very nice visit and the food was great! Highly recommend!

Best place to eat in Cheraw but they are not open on the weekends. Great food and friendly staff. If you love sweets, they have the best desserts.

On our way to FL we found ourselves near Cheraw SC at lunchtime. After reading reviews about The River’s Edge, decided to give it a try. We we pleasantly surprised. Everything was homemade, my husband and both had the daily special, meatloaf with 2 sides;...we chose “wedding potatoes “ a cheesy shredded potato with a hint of jalapeño, green beans, and freshly baked rolls. My husband also had a bowl of the soup of the day, cheesy chicken and rice, which he found to be delicious. The meatloaf was just like your grandma made, thick and topped with a thick tomato sauce. I meant to photograph our plate, but we started devouring it as soon as it hit the tablet. We were much too full to try dessert, but there were some very tempting looking cakes in the case at the front register. The decor is very basic but clean, and hanging all around the walls of the restaurant were beautiful vintage quilts to admire and buy,if you so desired. We will definitely be returning on future trips through the area.More

Ate dinner here this evening. I ordered a half rack of barbecue ribs. The ribs were very good. Prices are reasonable and the service was good.

We were just driving through Cheraw at lunch time and chanced up the River's Edge. Big restaurant and bakery. Decorated with a quilt sale. Friendly waitress. I had a cheese and pimento sandwich with tomato and avocado and apple smoke bacon. Nice size for lunch....My wife had a very filling and tasty bowl of beed vegetable soup. We picked up some peanut butter oatmeal cookies at the counter when we paid.More

A great place for a hot comfort food meal. Friendly and courteous staff. Extensive salad bar looked fresh. Homemade deserts are a delight.

We had loaded potato soup, chili, chicken salad, strawberry and carrot cakes. We also took home incredible sweet rolls for breakfast. Cindy and Stanley as well as the staff treated us very well. I love how they have decorated their restaurant with beautiful quilts. A...must for those residing in Cheraw and well worth a trip for those outside the area.More
