We were seated where we had a lovely view of the water and marsh. Our waiter was informative and attentive. We enjoyed the She-crab soup and their house salads. Everything was delicious.

California Dreaming had always been a mainstay for my family over my son's Citadel years! It offered a nice, upscale feel with consistent food and moderate prices! Unfortunately, it seems that all of that has slipped! Gone are the linen table clothes replaced by plastic, utensils are dirty, as well as, glasses and the food is not prepared or presented... More

This restaurant was close to our Hotel and we decided to try it, although not familiar with this chain. We went to the outside bar as the weather was warm and wanted to see the view. They don't have much to offer in the selection of beer and wine for a Bar. I asked what Label their white wines were... More

This restaurant was a cut above the usual chain restaurant. Try the salmon it was savory. Their salads are great and try the house dressing it is tasty.

For a special occasion, we go to this great restaurant on the river, overlooking the yachts in the harbor. The marinated sirloin is one of my favorites. Prime rib is also a big plus. Their salads are to die for. Hard to duplicate at home.

From the outside, this restaurant looks good. But what is inside is what really counts. We were headed to a family event at 5pm and wanted to get together for lunch but really didn’t want to go out. California Dreaming does not do take out, but when we explained our needs, they allowed us to pickup our order. Popular among... More

Before moving to Charleston California Dreaming was the place where I had to go before leaving the city. Now not so much. I hadn't been in quite some time but I wanted to take my girlfriend out to dinner for her birthday but it was somewhat of a bust. She loved her chicken and sausage pasta but my steak came... More

Party of 16, 15 were served while I waited 10 minutes for my bowl of potato soup. My croissants had cooled off by then and the soup was not hot, potatoes almost cooked but not quite. Some were very happy with their meals, obviously not me, although the soup did taste really good.

We spent a night in Charleston while going cross country this past May. We stayed at the La Quinta Inn Riverview on Ashley Point Drive which I would also recommend - especially if you are bringing your dog along. We asked at the front desk for a good restaurant recommendation for dinner. The desk clerk suggested California Dreaming which was... More

We ate here on a week night while vacationing in Charleston and did not have to wait to be seated. The decor and views of the waterfront were beautiful. We had great service and great food. Highly recommend!
