we went to this place and loved the food. I recommend the stuffed mushrooms. We had no reservation but were happy to sit near the bar, What was exceptional was the terrific live band playing.

This place is fantastic. The décor is beautiful too. I had shrimp, grits, and Andouille sausage which was absolutely mind blowing. Also tried the tuna tartar with watermelon. Sounds strange but tastes great. Went another night for raw oysters and something unusual, fried portabellas. The wine list is outrageous too. Our waiter not only helped us order, he made out... Excellent dining experience. Wife had their scallop dinner and said it was the best she has ever had. I had their Grouper special which was cooked to perfection. Excellent service, friendly staff, diverse menu. You wont be disappointed with this dining choice.

We had brunch at High Cotton on a busy Saturday. We had a large party with two children and they were very accommodating to us. They opened up the lounge area for us to sit in so that the kiddos could move around a bit. Everyone was so happy with their meal. I ate the Shrimp and Grits and it... More

Freshly updated and marvelously managed restaurant in historic district of Charleston. We went there for brunch late Sunday AM. We were at bit early and not all of our party had arrived, yet we were seated promptly, & beverage, appetizer, brunch orders taken. When the rest of our party (of six) arrived 35 minutes later, they were professionally and courteously... More

Came with a large group and were treated lovely. Jonathan our server was just the finest gentleman. He truly is great at his job. The food was so delicious. I believe we had most of the menu between us all. The duck breasts was cooked perfectly. The wines are top notch and a large selection. The manger Mr Zachary is... More

On our final day in Charleston, we found this fantastic place for brunch. Our server Ben was so personable and clearly knew his craft. Our soups, I had crab, and my wife had onion. We both agreed, best soups of our lives! The Bloody Mary's with pickled okra...delicious! We then had the infamous shrimp and grits. Just outstanding...the fresh tomatoes... More

My wife and I stopped in one evening for some cocktails and jazz music. High Cotton features an intimate and relaxing environment; great for a romantic night out! The music was well done with high-quality musicians and great acoustics; we sat 10 feet from the band and the music was at a very pleasant volume. The service was spectacular; our... More
