We ate dinner here for my sister's bachelorette party. It was one of the few restaurants in Charleston that could seat a larger party. The exterior is currently undergoing some renovations so be aware. There is a parking garage across the street as well. Our reservation was for 8:45 and they had run out of one of the specials before... More

We enjoyed Sunday brunch at High Cotton. It was wonderful, our waiter was fabulous: attentive and personable. He knew when to check in and when to let us enjoy our food. The food was wonderful, especially the French Toast and homemade blueberry chocolate chip muffin (special for the day). The live blue grass trio provided a great atmosphere. I was... More

Our group of 20 dined in a private room using a limited menue, but enjoyed a fabulous dinner. I especially liked the bibb lettuce salad with bacon and fried green tomatoes and the shrimp and grits entree. The service was first rate than the food excellent all around.

Wonderful food and service! My girlfriends and I had a boozy brunch with delicious food and mimosas. The live band they had playing was great too.

Absolutely loved this restaurant!!! I will never forget the crab-stuffed mushrooms. To die for!!! I had the 8 oz. filet and gruyere potatoes, which were fantastic as well. Also glad I tried the apple cobbler for dessert. This was one of the most amazing dinners I have ever had and will definitely return when in the area again. We've been... More

This was my second visit to High Cotton. I had to send back my tuna because it had so much sinew in it that I literally couldn't cut it with the knife provided. They were apologetic and cooked another piece, which arrived after everyone else was finished. The tuna was accompanied by one of the strangest side dishes I've ever... More

Everything about this restaurant was okay. The service was okay and the food was okay. My expectations were a bit higher than an average restaurant.

The ambience is great here, it feels like what the Charleston of the past might have been. We had the French toast and crabmeat Eggs Benedict both of which were beautifully presented and delicious. The cornbread comes served in sweet grass baskets and the day were we visiting, there was live bluegrass music. The service was outstanding, we felt welcome... More

My husband and I were spending 1 full day exploring Charleston after a wedding. We started our day off with brunch at High Cotton. WOW! So good!! My husband had the shrimp and grits and I had the brioche french toast. Both were unbelievably delicious and they did not skimp on the shrimp like some places do!! I would highly... More

Great southern food and beautiful atmosphere. Excellent service. Order the shrimp and grits. Wish I had left room for dessert. Make reservations to ensure a table.
