Feels like I should do two reviews for this one. One aimed for Charleston locals/Southern travelers and one for first-time/short visit travelers from other parts of the world/US. Onward... The location is the obvious sore-spot. It is too bright and in the middle of a newly built mall and the effect is not "nice-meal" worthy. Hardly the best, most authentic... More

My husband and I, along with our 11 year old daughter just had one of the most memorable dining experiences that we've ever had. My husband made the reservation via Open Table and mentioned that we were celebrating my 50th birthday. From the moment we stepped in the door, we were treated like royalty. An envelope addressed to me was... More

We were in Charleston for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. This was definitely a special place. We each ordered a different salad and they were unique and delicious. I had fish and my husband had beef and both were done to perfection. We were full so didn't order any dessert. But our waiter brought us a small tray... More

We chose this restaurant from other reviews for our 40th anniversary dinner. We were in Charleston one night before our cruise and in retrospect can say we chose wisely. The restaurant had the warmth and gentility of the south from the wooden wall interiors to the service staff attention to detail and the excellent taste of the food. It was... More

Enjoyed dinner last night at Charleston Grill. We were warmly greeted and taken to our table even though all in our party of 8 had not yet arrived. Consulted with staff to try some wines we had never enjoyed before. They have an amazing list and we truly enjoyed some very good wines. Food was exceptional; best rack of lamb... More

The ambiance and staff set the tone of this fine dining restaurant. From the warm greeting, tables set apart from each other, and very knowledgeable staff, you know you are in professional hands. The menu is distinctively different and well planned out. The food is divine. Bryan, our server helped us make selections with a knowing hand. The crab cake... More

Charleston Grill is one of those places that's a sure bet. Michelle Weaver always produces a great tasting meal. The bar staff is the best in Charleston and there is live music every night. What more could you ask for? Did I mention Mickey Bakst? Charleston'a number one behind the scenes philanthropist? Mickey works by night undercover as the manager... More

In the heart of the Charleston peninsula sits Charleston Place Hotel (actually Belmond Charleston Place). We normally don't like hotel restaurants but Charleston Grill is special. From the very cool bar including live jazz to the warm greeting from Mickey (manager) to the elegant restaurant with a wide ranging low country menu, to the very friendly and accommodating servers the... We went the last day of Restaurant Week and ordered off of that menu. Loved the selections. Best place to get steak! We enjoyed the whole meal!

Lots of good food in Charleston BUT this is great food. 3 piece band plays very softly as you dine. Micky - the manager comes by to say hello to everyone. Casual yet fine dining experience. You won't be disappointed.
