Absolutely without question our continuing favorite. Where others might vary from time to time, Magnolias has remained the absolute best in food, service and atmosphere. Without reservations, you will probably wait. Every item we selected on the menu was outstanding. The fried chicken, although some may not consider this "high end" for a high end restaurant, is the best I've... More

Made my reservation in advance as I did not want to miss out on dining at this E Bay Str. institution. The restaurant was beautifully appointed and the atmosphere and food exceeded my expectations. Portions are large (I had to leave one-half of my short ribs and risotto dish) so plan on arriving hungry. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her salmon... More

Our family was there as part of our family reunion and we had made reservations in advance because we had planned out the day to see various historical parts of the city. However, once we arrived the table was not ready and it was 30 minutes before we could be seated. Needless to say we were very disappointed and I... More

Old stand-by for locals. Good Southern fare. Not too much Foo foo. Low country food well prepared and to the point. Relaxed atmosphere and knowledgeable staff. Never gone wrong here.

We have traveled to Charleston several times and enjoy dining out. There are so many good restaurants, and the list keeps growing, but we have found Magnolia's to be excellent every time, and go back every visit.

Magnolias was delicious. Do yourself a favor and order the fried green tomatoes and the scallops appetizer. I had the fish of the day, and my companions had fried chicken and they were both also very good. You MUST make a reservation. We went on a Friday night at 730 and heard the hostess tell a walk-in they were booked... More

We had heard this was a must place to dine on our recent trip to Charleston. They did not disappoint. Our waiter was excellent. While I don't recall his name he was a young college student who was warm and honest with his recommendations.

My wife and I were looking for a place to eat lunch. I found a good spot near my location using trip advisor. It was just better than I could have hoped. It has southern food with mix of meals native to Charleston. The chicken breast with green and potatoes and corn was a perfect match. It is spot for... More

The restaurant choices in Charleston are varied & excellent. I chose Magnolias as the menu offered choices that I knew my teenage boys would enjoy as well as my wife/I. The menu lived up to our expectations with a great choice of Southern inspired cooking. My only disappointment was to be seated in the back room of the restaurant where... More

We went with a business group/tour and had a preselected menu. It was delicious!!! Crab cakes were cooked to perfection and the fried green tomatoes were the best I've ever had.
