We came for the fried chicken and we were very happy with many things. Specifically, we liked the sweet tea, the brown sugar ham was mouth watering and the red rice was delicious. Very friendly service that was great with our toddlers.

Food was excellent and very reasonable ....small restaurant ...no reservations taken. Owner on site at all times and very personable. Corn muffins were my favorite appetizer...but we order some of all on the menu. .meatloaf awesome. Everyone in a party of 8 had something different and no one was disappointed. BUT. If I had known I would have ordered dessert... More

We were recommended to come to this place by the people at the visitors center. We were glad we did. The history of the name of the restaurant was pretty cool. The story is on the back of the menu. Typical southern food and a cozy atmosphere. You can tell that they get busy during lunch. We got there right... More

Great food at a historic restaurant. The staff was great and the food equally great. Highly recommend the southern fried chicken here.

I've been going here for over 15 years, and it never disappoints. Simply the best fried green tomatoes anywhere; wonderful pecan crusted whiting, delicious fried chicken, terrific shrimp and grits ... and that Coca-Cola cake - don't try to eat it all at once, your teeth will ache ... say 'hello' to Dana when you're there ... and the food... We queued up for 30 mins to get a table for four. They were fans blowing on us outside so not too uncomfortable, plus the staff came out twice to check how many people would be in our party. The decor was charming and not pretentious, quite a pleasant atmosphere. I ordered a pork chop (you can order two) with... More

Jestine's was recommended by a guide at Boone Plantation. We wanted authentic Southern food at reasonable prices and this was perfect. We had no wait and our server was helpful and answered questions. Some of our party had the fried chicken and it was delicious. The pecan pie is to die for and the pickled cucumbers they serve when you... More

Came here when in Charleston in search of some family style southern fare and this certainly delivered. We had a very short wait to get in (outside on shaded benches with lovely cold water) but it was well worth the wait! When we walked in we were very warmly welcomed shown to a table served some great iced tea and... More

I had lunch at Jestine's Kitchen during a recent visit. We were seated immediately and greeted by friendly server. The food took a while to come out...any longer would have been a problem since we were watching the time. The food was fine-definitely not bad but not amazing. The prices were good. I'd go back again.

We were looking for a great place to eat after touring around Charleston. None of us wanted"chain" restaurant food. Found a review about Justine's that raved about home style cooking and decided to give it a try. What an awesome find! Three of us had the meatloaf dinner. The slices were grilled and looked like steaks. Excellent choice as was... More
