The cornbread slice with honey butter is great! I enjoyed my collard greens but did not like the blue plate special crab cake at all, the exterior was breaded and fried. My husband thought the fried oyster po'boy sandwhich was ok. Their thinly sliced cucumbers...More

While visiting Charleston, this was a restaurant suggestion by a friend who lives in the Carolinas. This is definitely southern food. I ordered blue shrimp and grits, which was lacking in any type of seasoning , and my spouse ordered the Sunday special of flounder....More

We were told that this was a must for really delicious, "authentic" Southern cooking. Perhaps our expectations were out of line but we were rather underwhelmed. The Pork chops were overdone and so dry. The exterior of the fried chicken was just too thick and...More

I really wanted to love Jestine's, after watching Anthony Bourdain's first Charleston show. Had the meatloaf dinner, and it wasn't great. I can actually make better meatloaf at home. The sides as well were just a little bit off. The rest of my family felt...More

We visited Jestine's in December, so it was filled with Christmas/winter themed salt and peper shakers. Maybe it always is, don't know, but it was a hoot. The service and the food were both excellent. I had lovely fried oysters on a salad with the...More

My wife and I were glad we found Jestine's so we could curb our southern cooking cravings. The Fried Chicken, biscuits, lemon, pie, etc... hit the spot. Service was prompt and friendly. There was not wait for a late lunch.

Our family visited Jestine's a kitchen and we all loved the place and food. It is definitely not a tourist trap . It is cozy inside, small but they make sure to make you feel like home. There was a little wait outside of the...More

This homey little restaurant boasts the full Monty of southern dishes. Fried okra and collards (both excellent) corn fritters and corn bread (just so-so) Po-boys and meatloaf were both acceptable. Wait staff seated us and took our orders in a hurry but didn't rush us...More

We enjoyed the “bread & butter” flavored cucumbers. The sandwich was good and the shrimp basket was too. The shrimp was hidden under the fries so it seemed rather small at first sight. The cola cake was sweet and chocolate deliciousness. Our service was good...More

Good place to stop for lunch. Busy and a little chaotic but very friendly. The food was decent but the star is the fried chicken. You wait a while for your meal but that is because everything is cooked fresh to order. Skip the cornbread,...More

Pretty narrow aisles but isn’t there a law Citizens With Disability’s Act that requires them to provide accessibility?
