It was a cold, wet and generally miserable day, when I picked up my daughter, but the soups at 5 Loaves, the sandwiches, everything I have eaten there are wonderful. Melanie was great too. If it weren't for the fact that the Lowcountry has so many great restaurants, I would eat here every time we go out.

My wife and daughters went for dinner recently. A small but very cool restaurant. The food was fantastic ! The prices were amazing. Dinner for 4, 2 appetizers a beer and a bottle of nice wine for under $100 is amazing. I double checked the bill !

This is a restaurant that pleases everyone. There are a few locations around Charleston- downtown, Mount Pleasant and Summerville. The downtown is my favorite because it's on an old house and a bit off the beaten path. It's easy to miss- but worth seeking out. They have something for everyone-soups, salads, pasta and sandwiches. Specials are posted daily. The prices... More

The food was excellent as well as the service. Charleston has many high end restaurants -- it's without question a foodie town. We are living on our boat but here for 4 months. Wanted to sample more local favorites. This is certainly one of them and deservingly so. The components of the meals are high quality, the preparation excellent and... More

This is for the new Summerville location. This place took over an old house that many other restaurants had tried to make a go of and failed. It is bright and cheery and very clean. We were there for lunch but will be back for dinner. Both the food and service were very good. A great selection of soups and... More

While the service was good this afternoon, the chef did not prepare 3 of the 4 orders as we requested. Asked for toasted multi gran bread, not toasted, the croissant on the chicken salad was cold, the baguette for the turkey sandwich had 2 different kinds of baguettes, since one was the end of a tasted like regular italian bread... This is a review for the store in summerville which only opened Monday...we were so excited for this restaurant to open! Tonight we tried it out and it was excellent! Our server was jessica and she was very nice and we had a great time chatting about different places we have eaten! We started with the coconut broth mussels as... More

Lovely food and good vibe. 30 min wait on a Friday @ 1pm, so not unexpected. Had the vegan kale & miso soup and the portobello sandwich on a croissant. I'm not even a vegetarian and I would consider going vegan if I could eat all of my meals here. I was impressed with the servers too. I had a... More

Good food. Excellent atmosphere. Good service. Tortelinni was excellent as well as the broccoli cheese soup. Chicken Marsala was good, but could have used a better marsala wine. Best meal we had while visiting in Charleston. Good portions to go with the price as well. Location is in a converted house so easy to pass by if you are looking... More
