Came by recommendation and a search on Diners, Drive-in and Dives! Totally glad we did! Best grits in the world!!! Some of us got breakfast, then another lunch! NO complaints!!! We'll be back for sure!

We were staying right across the street from this diner and never would have gone in had it not been for our food tour. We had the BEST breakfast grits and sweet potato cake. The place is busy so you might wait a while for your order. We went back the next day for tomato pie and sweet tea and... More

The cafe is on a little parking lot off S. Market. Good basic breakfast. Biscuit was good, and I didn't have any of the other pastries. You can eat inside (small area) or at outside tables in the parking lot.

My husband and I decided to try Dixie after seeing what I thought was Dixie on tv, but this seems to be a completely different place. It's very close to Charleston Market, attached to a convenience store with absolutely no curb appeal..kind of old, outdated and dingy. There are several tables in the parking lot area, and a couple tables... More

I have ate here many times but our last trip to Charleston the food was terrible. Must be new owners or something because I have never been disappointed before. We usually eat there every morning but this year one trip was enough.

The chicken and waffles are divine!! That is really all you need to know. Some of the best fried chicken I have ever had.

Superb grits, quality biscuits, quality everything, Charleston chews, tomato pie..oh my! This would be more stars if I could add them. Since its small, a part of me didn't want to share, but they are so very nice there, too with a great value; I just had to share this hidden gem.

We stumbled upon Dixie by chance and were treated to the unexpected. I had the Low Country Omelet and it was delicious! I shared the sweet roll with my sister and regretted sharing it because it was awesome. It didn't look like much but it was soft, buttery, and perfect - not too sweet, just right!

Came here on a brisk early Sunday afternoon. Ordered fried chicken and waffles w/peach chutney and the State Street biscuit. Disappointing. The fried chicken was seasoned well but dry. The waffles were very dry. The peach chutney was bland and not enough to put some moisture into the meal and the syrup was cheap tasting. The State street was dry... More

Very unorganized, seemed dirty, and terrible food. I ordered a grilled cheese and there was barely any cheese on it and was covered in grease. I would never recommend this place to anyone and will never go back.
