Let me start by saying I was deceived by its simplicity. We ended up having lunch there because the hotel had committed a boo-boo and given us a lunch on them. We walked into an unassuming, charming restaurant with a lovely menu and a fantastic server. John is the man!! He was knowledgeable about the menu, about the wine, he... More

We can't decide which we loved more, the food, the atmosphere, or our Waiter John. This was one of our favorite meals, and we frequent Charleston many times a year. The She Crab Soup was by far the best we ever had in town. The seafood was just marvelous and fresh. And the portion sizes are very generous. Be prepared... More

My wife and I just had one of the best breakfasts ever. While not the cheapest certainly you get what you pay for. Our server Liz was just terrific. Welcoming and knowledgeable about her menu. Just the right amount of contact and always at the right time. The Palmetto omelet had huge amounts of crab and lobster in it. Wow.... More

We always try to do Sunday Brunch here when in Charleston. The café itself it bright and open, airy with plenty of sunlight. The brunch itself ($27) is the usual fare with the omelet station, fixed stations for eggs benedict, applewood bacon, sausage links and patties, cheese pastries and other gooey items that are sweet and delicious. There is the... More

Really cute atmosphere - came here for breakfast. I've always walked by it and wanted to try, but fine dining isn't really my thing - however, it was the perfect breakfast spot for our girls trip. Mimosas, chocolate chip and strawberry belgium waffles and sausage - all FANTASTIC. Even served with a cute little flower :) Could not stop staring... More

We ate lunch here when we first checked in to the hotel and honestly didn't look too closely at prices. They are more than I normally spend for lunch, but wow! a great meal!

We sat inside that received efficient service and loved the 21 Burger with fries and the four of us was happy with our choices. We ordered lemonade and they constantly gave us refills, we did not have to ask. We really enjoyed our lunch.

You won't see the Palmetto Cafe from the street - enter through the luxurious, must see, Charleston Place Hotel with a stupendous crystal chandelier, curved staircases, and shops. The Palmetto Cafe is pricey but an unexpected treat. Cool and airy, it resembles a glass-roofed greenhouse. A special break from the hot streets of Charleston. We had the best ever Caesar... More

With several days in Charleston at The Belmond Hotel, we lunched at the Palmetto Café three times. The first was when we thought we were leaving to fly back to CT, but the weather had different plans, the second when it was too stormy to venture out of the hotel and the third when we finally succeeded in flying. The... More
