After a great evening at it's sister restaurant Magnolia, the night before we were looking forward to more of the same at Cypress. Unfortunately it was not to be. The setting was very pleasant, decor was interesting and very comfortable. However, the waiter was odd, apparently new to the job with a strange and not appreciated sense of humor. The... More

Odd that I couldn't find anything that looked good on the menu, which should be a warning sign ("Leave now"). Anyhooways, I ordered the BBQ trio because nothing else looked good. The chicken has a weird hard coating on it - I think it was rice - which gave a mouth feel of over cooked. Whole thing was nearly inedible.... More

I have to admit I was skeptical when we walked up to the front door. The exterior looks like it need s a good cleaning, especially the windows. However, upon entering, my opinion changed drastically. The interior is beautiful, modern and up to date. Bit it gets even better. The food is out of this world. We started with the... More

A really fun place in downtown Charleston with good food. We had 12 of us for dinner and everything went very well. The food was outstanding, the service even better, and the room is great. Good for groups, couples, maybe even a family if they are looking for a little upscale dining alternative. We had a great evening.

Always great! Fun night out and the food is great. Highly recommend the Caesar salad prepared at the table. Entertaining and delicious! Awesome wine list too (more on the paper menu than the iPad).

Went with friends for drinks and apps and had a great time. The drinks are fun, apps were great and service for a larger group was spot on. Wished we had stayed longer for more drinks and dinner....next time!

We ate here years ago and were happy to repeat this fine dining experience in this elegant setting! Staff were attentive and welcoming! Fabulous combo tuna and salmon tartar and lobster bisque appetizers followed by the" the most incredible " Wasabi Tuna entree and also the Short Ribs! Only disappointment were the desserts! A very bready apple shortbread and nondescript... More

Stylish restaurant with a menu that has Southern flair. Lovely dining experience from beginning to end. Specials were offered, adding to the interest of the menu. Almond Fried Brie Salad was a winner, as was all the selections ordered by our party of four. Service, decor and food get high marks from this diner. Refreshing menu while reflecting southern cuisine.and... More

Very good food! My husband and I did not want a large dinner. We ordered a salad to split and two starters, crab cakes and the special of the day, pork shoulder. The portions were perfect for what we wanted. Unbelievable wine list.

Our threesome of friends had been to Cypress before and knew to expect excellent food and wine. And we were not disappointed. But the general ambient noise combined with the six loud and probably overserved twenty-something women we were seated next to made it virtually impossible to hear each other across a three-foot wide table. We had to lean in... More
