Have had lunch here several times and never disappointed. The Okoniyaki - Japanese pancake is delicious, as is BoBoJi, and all of the daily specials. Drink offerings include specialty cocktails and large beer selections. If you like spicy good food this is a must try.

Loved it so much. Went there with a friend and asked the waiter to pick best entrees. The highlight was some sort of Japanese cabbage pancake paired with a green papaya salad dish. Of course we had to get cocktails and so we settled on peppercorn- infused gin. I wish I could pronounce the dishes but I was blown away... More

According to my boyfriend if all vegetarian dishes could be prepared this full of flavor, he might become a vegetarian. It's the only place we can truly enjoy and be satisfied by a no meat meal. The food is not only creative, but most importantly very full of flavors. We also enjoyed their cocktail and wine selection. The ambience is... More

A local friend took me here last night. The restaurant in a former gas station on a residential street is a hidden gem. Artsy-rustic-creative decor with a staff that truly understands hospitality. They make you feel good with kindness and generosity of spirit. The food, sourced from local farmers is spot-on in complex flavor and aromatics. You must have the... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant because of its previous reviews. I must say it was an incredible experience, sitting at the bar the bartender recommended a few dishes- Papaya salad & okinimiyaki along with some popular drinks. As we devoured the food and drinks we learned that the chefs of this restaurant actually spent time on foot in south east... More

First let me say that the flavor from everything I got in this restaurant was beyond believable! The cabbage pancake was the best vegetable side I've eaten in a long time. The shrimp dumplings were great in flavor too, they just missed some texture, I would've loved them fries! Some down falls: the menu is small and precise, read it... More

After a recommendation from my brother-in-law who's an accomplished chef told us to go here while visiting Charleston, my husband and I knew we had to fit it in on our trip. We sure are glad we did. Since we had a large breakfast before going there, we decided to split the BoBo Ji entree that really was full of... More

Xiao Bao is yet another stop on the list of great dining in Charleston tour. Terrific ingredients, artfully prepared in a slightly funky/industrial atmosphere. Great place to meet friends and share conversation.

The location is a little out of the way but you will be sorry if you do not try this restaurant. The owners have converted an old garage into a great dining experience. I had the cabbage pancake as an appetizer. OMG. I then ate as a main entrée the Sirachi pork and tofu. Spicey, spicey. I But I love... More
