We had eaten in downtown Charleston and wanted a quiet spot for coffee and an after-dinner drink. This spot was perfect. Irish coffee, and a cordials were just what we wanted and they hit the spot. The service was personal and pleasant. Prices were reasonable. Atmosphere was enjoyable.

Within walking distance of aquarium and Ft Sumpter. Deli type food. Good Rubin and hot dogs. Not a good place for vegetarians. Pretty tasty on the run. Salad bar looked fresh.

Robin, the owner of East Bay Meeting House out does himself with his take on Afternoon Tea with a Charleston twist. Afternoon tea has been one of my long time guilty pleasures. I've indulged in Afternoon Tea in various places around the world. I was quit disappointed when the Charleston Place quit offering their version of Afternoon Tea but, East... More

After dinner we decided to wander around the historic district in search of delectable desserts. We settled at this coffee dessert bar. with lots of choices to pick from. All of our choices (pani perdu, creme brulee, apple pie, coconut cake) were rich and satisfying . Of course, eating dessert out is pricey but in this case it was worth... More

Centrally located and perfect place when there is a group of people with mixed beverage tastes mid afternoon. Robin, the owner, is very hospitable. They have a happy hour with a nice red wine that we enjoyed. Lots of pastries that looked yummy. The small space has a nice French flair to it. Give it a try.

Back in Charleston for the Spoleto USA music festival. Since last year, East Bay Meeting House has added an afternoon tea service in the English "high tea" style. Delicious sandwiches, scones, macaroons, choice of teas, the works. Tasty and lots of fun, in a fun place. Robin and the staff are a delight. We'll be back.

My wife and I went last night. It's a very intimate setting with red decor, dim lighting, etc. We got coffee and dessert and it was excellent! The host was beyond sweet and accommodating and custom made everything for us. I was blown away by the customer service that they portrayed. Highly recommend!
