Wanted really good fresh seafood and Amen was recommended by two of the concierges at our inn. Started with Hush puppies which were solid. I had shrimp and mushroom risotto. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and risotto was very creamy. Portion was large! Husband had seared sea scallops which he declared delectable. Service was great! Will definitely go here... More

Crab cakes were great. Ceviche was delicious. My husband loved the she crab soup and my daughter was impressed with the red snapper. Atmosphere was pleasant. Very pleased.

It seems each time I think of lunch, I think of Amen St. I'm surprised we don't hear more about this place, but it surprised considering other local greats are on the down low too. There are a few menu items crafted for travelers, while there are some real gems if you look over the menu closely. I just enjoy... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local friend, and we were not disappointed! The space was beautiful and inviting, from the warm wood bar and rustic brick walls, to the oyster shell chandeliers. We couldn't leave Charleston without having shrimp & grits and hush puppies, and theirs were absolutely delicious!

A nice little restaurant on the corner of East Bay and Cumberland. Their She crab soup was excellent and their Caesar Salad with grilled shrimp was just as good.

Sorry to say that for the high cost to eat here, the food and service were sub par. we are locals and eat out often. We stopped here because friends wanted to try it. great location on E Bay, near everything. Our server was lackluster, could have cared less we were there because they were busy. Had the arugula salad... More

We recently visited this place on recommendation. It is busy and we had no booking so sat at the bar to eat which was fine. The best part of this was watching the oysters being shucked s right in front of us by Bella who was full of interesting information about the many varieties of oysters they serve. We tried... More

We enjoyed wonderful fresh seafood for TWO meals at Amen Street. Though we have been to Charleston many times, this restaurant was one we had never visited. The service was good and the food was delicious. We will eat there next time we visit.

Description
Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life. Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor. The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish. We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.
