We were going to see a performance at the Sottile Theater and wanted a place within walking distance to go for dinner. We decided to try Muse. We didn't visit the bar, but it looked very cozy, perhaps to being a little on the small side. We ate on the second floor which is comprised of several small rooms. For... More

The restaurant is a small eatery and wine bar with a cozy atmosphere. Reminds me of dining in an old Charleston home. The "restaurant week" menu was well thought out and dishes brilliantly prepared. The highlights were the roasted apple & butternut squash soup along with the provolone picante fonduta. Main entrees were delicious. My favorite desert was the salted... More

Server was quite stoic and never smiled. And while the charm of the old Victorian home was captivating, the small parlor rooms inhibited a quiet, romantic ambiance when seated next to a loud, large table. The wine selection was great but a sommellier would have been able to recommend better wines than our server. The cream of onion soup was... More

On a whim, we decided to return (after several years) to Muse for Christmas Eve dinner with friends. Muse is located in an old house in the middle of Society St, between Meeting & King, so super central. The building was home to the legendary Freda's restaurant (which closed...early 1990s?), later a Mexican, later a dress shop, and now Muse.... More

Muse was recommended to us by a local and it does not disappoint. The restaurant is located in what appears to be a restored house - vintage Charleston - and the interior is charming and inviting. I had the boneless, flash fried sea bass and my husband had the osso bucco. Both were delicious, and the sea bass was quite... More

The staff make this place really good. The building is interesting and they were happy to show us around. Service was quirky. The food was fine but some of the starters needed a bit of a kick. Would like to try again and choose something different.

We tried this place for the first time this weekend. Our friends had been before, so we went with them. It is located off the main streets, and is in a quiet location. The house it is located in is 19th century. We were quickly seated. They have a very nice menu with several seafood dishes. Meats are available also.... More

My husband and I had a lovely dinner at Muse last night - our first night and first trip to Charleston. Muse has an outdoor, fully covered courtyard (sheltered, so we were not cold), with fresh flowers and candles on each table. There is also a nice bar (12-16 seats? Intimate) in the front room downstairs, an intimate back room... More

I was lucky enough to visit Muse with friends during a visit to Charleston and we were really impressed. I love unique food and "one of a kind" restaurants and Muse was a delight It is located in a building from the mid-1800s and it's brimming with character. We were hungry so we all started with appetizers and agreed to... More

We stopped in late (9 30pm) Wednesday night as it was around the corner from our hotel. We sat on the porch and enjoyed a bottle of wine from a good list. I had the shrimp and polenta and my husband had the bolognese. Both were very good and just right portion sizes. We would definitely go back especially in... More
