Butcher & Bee opened in 2016 with a mission to produce the best tasting sandwiches in Charleston, South Carolina. Located at 1085 Morrison Drive, off Brigade Street, in the East Central neighborhood, it is a great place to grab a delicious bite of lunch while...sight-seeing in the city. It's open from 11:30 to 9 on Monday, 4 to 9 on Tuesday and Wednesday, 11:30 to 10 on Thursday and Friday, 10 to 4 and 5 to 10 on Saturday and 10 to 4 and 5 to 9 on Sunday, And please don't ask why the hours are so complicated. Yes, 10 to 10 daily would be less confusing. But once you bite into a smoked plum BBQ sandwich with pulled pork, smoked plum BBQ sauce, smoked slaw and B&B pickles, you won't complain. At Butcher & Bee, which also has a location in Nashville, Tennessee, it's all about the sandwiches. My wife and I started with bacon wrapped dates and a grilled chickpea Caesar salad with little gem lettuce, marinated chickpeas and tahini Caesar dressing. I was overjoyed with the smoked plum BBQ sandwich. My wife chose a double cheeseburger with American cheese, fancy sauce, B&B pickles and fries. For dessert, we shared two delightful creations, oatmeal cream pie with creme cheese frosting and sour cherry sorbet with brownie bites and almond tuile. We washed it all down with glasses of home-made lemonade.More

Wanted to love the place as it such a cute restaurant, with super friendly staff. Unfortunately the the BLT was difficult to eat, with over charred bread and bacon that was one-note, smokey. We also ordered the chickpea Caesar salad with chicken and the chicken...was dry and flavorless where it wasn’t charred. The dessert of ginger cake was super dry and dense. Crazy disappointing for our first meal in Charleston but luckily the next restaurant we visited exceeded our expectations.More

Service was great and very courteous. I had the grilled chickpea Caesar with tahini dressing. Nice concept but quite lackluster. Needed some zip, maybe even a little salt would have done it. Shared the pickled veg plate. Large chunks of vegetables with almost no pickle...flavor. Great to nibble on but did not meet expectations. The whipped feta was fantastic! Order it.More

Our trip here was miserable. The food was poorly done all around. We ordered a salad and hummus for our apps, and while the hummus was okay (the pita bread was undercooked), the salad was well over-dressed in a dressing that didn’t fit the salad....We ordered 4 entrées, lamb kebab, pasta, fish, and skirt steak. Starting with the lamb it wasn’t much of a kebab as much as just a regular-ole okay piece of lamb. The rest of the food however was disgusting. The pasta was horribly undercooked and completely inedible, the fish was even more undercooked and tasted like rubber. The steak was unevenly cooked to the point where it was almost raw in the middle (ordered to be medium well) and burnt to a crisp on the ends, and it was drenched in grape leaves so that that’s all it tasted like. It came with some corn that was more butter than corn and completely disgusting to eat. All of that for $150… The service was really good and the waitress was apologetic without us even saying we had an issue with the food, but that doesn’t cancel out the disgusting nature of what we ate. We were told the cooks were new and it was obvious, this place might have been good before but right now with the inexperienced staff it’s not worth a visit.More

My daughter had booked this place several days in advance for 12 people and had made sure to reach out in advance to accommodate this relatively large group. When we showed up, they were unwilling to give a big enough table to seat everyone and...instead offered to split our party into smaller groups dispersed throughout the restaurant. They didn’t even try to honor our reservation details and ended up squeezing both groups at tables that were too small, stating that the other tables were booked for other customers who had not even showed up yet. Unfortunately, the food was just as disappointing … we ordered the avocado crispy salad that came out looking and tasting like a pre-made grocery store salad; bland and totally lacking any flavor. The rest of the food was just okay, definitely not memorable and overall just not very refined. The service left a lot to be desired despite our waitress attempting to remediate the situation. Our table never got water served even after asking multiple times in 90 degrees heat; we ended up having to go get it ourselves . Overall the venue is nice and this place could have potential but they would need a complete overhaul of the menu and to be under a new management. The current manager did nothing to help us out to make our experience any better. If you are looking for a good brunch in Charleston there are so many better options.More

Visiting from out of town, we had thoughtful and considerate relatives find a great place for all of us to eat, including us vegetarian/vegans! Our entrees were delicious and the safety measures the restaurant and staff took were perfect. Social distancing between tables, all staff...wearing masks, hand sanitizer available - they did a great job, I felt safe and would happily go back.More

Excellent food! A very interesting menu with great choices. We especially liked the Brussel sprouts, the whipped feta and the bacon wrapped dates! My husband is a humus connoisseur and said that theirs was fabulous! The service was very good. We are alfresco and enjoyed...the outdoor seating.More

More for lunch than dinner. This was a nice restaurant with healthy food options. As a vegetarian it was easy to find tasty options. The atmosphere was lacking a little - not really a cozy dinner spot - but overall a good meal.

stopped by on a cold rainy day and we were ALL hangery. They let us sit outside, our choice, even though a chance of rain. Service was fast, food was fantastic. Options for the men, vegetarian and child in our party, everyone cleaned their plate....Atmosphere was modern, clean and coolMore

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch on the lovely patio. Whipped feta and hummus with pita were big hits.
