Received vouchers from our hotel for Blackstone's-- a really good choice for breakfast. Service was wonderful, value was good and food was tasty. Though we had a few choices of restaurants with our vouchers, we selected Blackstone's each day to get a hearty breakfast to start off our full days of sightseeing.

Today we went to Blsckstones Cafe in Beaufort the service was very friendly and the food and prices were great we understand that at 8 AM they actually do the pledge which is an excellent touch. There are banners hanging from many different schools which was quite interesting as well as pictures from movies filmed in Beaufort. Many people think of Charleston snd Hilton Head when it comes to the low country. We will now think of Beaufort. And will be back to Blsckstones Cafe

Came here for lunch during a recent stopover in Beaufort and we were glad we did. The staff, from the gentleman who greeted us as we walked in, to an employee folding napkins, to our waitress, to another employee putting away boxes, was friendly and welcoming. They each pointed out the good weather they were having which worked in our favor since, adhering to COVID safety protocol, we ate on the back patio outside, while a sweet bird sang to us from a tree branch above (not TRULY above, or that might have been really unfortunate, if you get my drift...). Shrimp and grits with a biscuit, and the day's special of a crab "burger" with fries were our choices and both were quite good. The shrimp had just enough heat, the grits, although less than warmed, were filling and cheesy. the crab burger was sweet and fresh tasting. Inside, the whole restaurant is festooned with pennants from everything-local-and-South Carolina (although I did not see the College of Charleston, our youngest son's alma mater), wood, a full bar (alcohol & coffee), and a full second floor dining area. If you want fun surroundings, good and moderate prices, good food, adherence to COVID protocol and, best of all, a welcoming bunch of folks, come here.

For a late winter Saturday morning, this place was busy but not packed. Yet, after waiting in line 20 minutes for a table (even though empty tables were clearly visible), we still had to flag down a server after 15 minutes to even get a cup of coffee and try to place our order. The first server's response? "You're not my table." Whoa. Wrong answer! We practically had to insist that she at least bring us some coffee before another waitress finally deigned to take our order. In the summertime it must be crazy here. Good thing the food was delicious. Otherwise I would not be able to give 3 circles.

Two couples arrive on Sunday at 9:30 and were told it would be a 30 minute wait; it turned out to be about 20 minutes. We were seated upstairs and were approached by our waitress (short haired blond) who was abrupt and rude. She took our order and after a bit of a wait came back with two luke warm cups of coffee, an oj, and a water. We let her know that the person who got water had ordered hot chocolate and she said "Yeah, I put your order in and it is coming. I brought you water so you would have something until it arrives." The hot chocolate arrived about 10 minutes later and was good. After a long wait the waitress came back and took our food order. My husband ordered french toast with fruit and a side of crisp bacon. I ordered a warmed croissant and crispy bacon. The croissant menu mentioned jelly or jam and I asked for strawberry jam. The waitress said "it's on the table" and acted like she was really put out that I asked. When asked what kind of fruit was available on the french toast the waitress said strawberries, blueberries, or bananas or you can get a combination of all three - he chose the three. One of our friends ordered pancakes with sausage and he asked if the pancakes came with butter on them, the waitress said "No, it's on the table". Again she was very curt and short with us. After a very long wait our food arrived. However, my husband's bacon was missing and my croissant had been split and toasted and was not warm. After about 5 minutes we flagged down our waitress and mentioned my husband didn't get his bacon. She said "Oh, I didn't put in bacon but I'll go get it." She never came back with his bacon. We finished our meal and again waited and waited for our bills. Finally the waitress brought them to us and the bacon we didn't get was on the tab; again after flagging down the waitress she said "ok, I'll take it off". We asked if we paid her or at the register and she let us know, in no uncertain terms we were to pay her - that way she wouldn't have to keep going up and down the stairs. She started to clear the table and one of our friends stacked a few of the plates to help her and she said "don't stack the plates, it makes it hard to send downstairs." We gave her our credit cards and after about 20 minutes she returned. I'll just say that our food was good but not good enough to return due to the service from our waitress. I've never been treated so poorly by a waitress and we were there for about 2 hours due to her. It was our last day of vacation and we were having breakfast before leaving town - we certainly didn't expect to spend this amount of time at a restaurant eating breakfast. When we left my husband commented about the fruit that came with his french toast. He said "if I'd known they charged 95 cents for each fruit on my french toast I'd just ordered one fruit (I feel the waitress should have made it clear that there was a charge for the fruit); the fruit wasn't worth $3.00 additional dollars.

This was a basic breakfast place. Meal was filling. We went because due to covid, our B&B gave out breakfast coupons instead of breakfast. The coupons did not completely cover the cost of breakfast, but that’s the hotel’s fault, not the restaurant’s. Husband had his basic eggs, ham and grits and I had Cajun shrimp and grits. The shrimp were good, but the grits were a bit bland considering they were “Cajun”.

This breakfast/lunch restaurant in downtown Beaufort was thoroughly enjoyable. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. Our family ate here four straight mornings. All breakfasts were above-average. Meats (bacon, sausage, Canadian bacon) were exceptionally tasty. My favorite by far was the spinach Florentine omelet. Blackstone also offered gluten free bread and bagels!

Had breakfast here 3 times. Was great. Food was super and so was staff. The wait on the weekends are around one hour for breakfast, weekdays around ten minutes. We had the two eggs and protein which was great. Also had the Cajun Shrimp and Grits which was super good.

Blackstones great breakfast menu will suit all appetites.Chef Gregg does a great job. Portions are ample and most delicious. The decor is eclectic with banners from so many colleges, prep schools and branches of the military from all over the US. When folks come in for the first time, they look around in wonderment. A special and unique treat awaits if you are there at 8 AM each morning. Everything stops, the owner Lou Gaudio rings a brass ship’s bell and announces that the tradition at Blackstone’s is to rise, salute the glad and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. You will not find a better and more colorful local restaurant for breakfast of lunch in Beaufort and it is located just off Bay Street on Scott Street. Enjoy!

There were three couples who stopped in for breakfast after staying the weekend at Fripp Island. It was about 10 am and we were promptly seated. Our waitress was awesome and took excellent care of us. The food was excellent and the quaint atmosphere made it even better. The corned beef hash was exceptional (we could tell it was home made) and the bacon and pancakes were great. Our coffee cups were kept full and they even gave us to go cups of coffee for the road. The quantity of food was perfect and the price was great for what you got. We highly recommend this place.

We were walking around Beauford hungry, and looked down a side street, and there was Blackstone's. Walked in cold and wet to this great cafe. Cafe was decked out in school flags and was inviting. We enjoyed the casual atmosphere, reasonably priced sandwiches and salads and hot coffee. Waitress was forthcoming and pleasant and Lou the owner very genial. Would definitely recommend.

Solid breakfast and lunch staples at Blackstone's Café and considering it's located in the heart of the tourist district the quality, portions and price are all very good. The place is huge and turns tables pretty quickly so it might be crowded but the wait should not be that long. Typical diner style offerings (club sandwiches, Rueben, burgers, salads) all there menu offerings sounded pretty appealing for lunch and breakfast My Rueben was prepared well, decent quality. Service was fast friendly accommodating and welcoming.

I called a couple of days before my wedding to arrange breakfast for 15 hungry men on the morning of my wedding. The staff was incredible! They arranged the seating and the kitchen was ready with prompt service and excellent food. The pricing was reasonable, and we tried almost everything on the menu with only raving reviews. This was such a special memory. Thank you for contributing to the best day of my life!

To go order. My sandwich was supposed to come with lettuce, tomato, and onion. I happen to be one of those people who like a little fresh, cool with my sandwich. Luckily someone who ordered also did not want their lettuce, tomato, and onion. When I opened my sandwhich to add these items, turkey was slimy, and as it turned out, flavorless. And I had to rebuild the sandwich with every bite. I don't believe this is because I added these items, if they had been on there from the beginning, I'm sure I would have still had this issue. I'm sure the slimy turkey was not helping the situation. Very poor quality meat and apparently service as they left off items I didn't request to be left off.
