As we are new to the area, many neighbors said "nope" or "meh".
Wrong - this is what it is supposed to be: a family-run diner.
We had breakfast and as usual the place was packed (as it throughout most of the day). Service was...quick and very friendly. The menu is enormous with additional specials on the chalkboards.
We had standard AM fare - french toast with bacon and waffles with apples. Both good. Add bottomless coffees.
Damages for 2 with tip was just north of $20.
We'll be back to try some of their lunch specials.More
You don't get this kind of service or breakfast from any of those chain restaurant places. This one brought me back to a local place in my home town of Watervliet, Michigan called the Midget Cafe. Seats at the counter, worn counter tops due to...years of cleaning, and food as advertised. This is the place the locals go. They know everyone by name but make tourists feel at home. We just loved it.More
A local diner it is, but the food was generous enough to expand the waistline an inch or two and it tasted great along with bottomless coffee. Service fantastic and for 20bucks for brunch for 2 you can stop in confidence.
Definitely home cooking at its best. Sunday mornings the place is packed after church but worth the wait. Two can have a great breakfast for under $20 maybe even under $17.
The service is friendly and prompt. Feels like eating at home but with better...food and no mess.More
Overall not a bad experience on my first visit here. I’ve driven by about 100 times and thought to give it a try today. My omelette was good and full of veggies. , my toast was barely toasted and my the tablespoon of potatoes they...have me was sub par at best.More
I see why the locals love it. The portions are huge. It is a diner basically with mostly fried foods. Everything we had was very good (clam bellies, coleslaw, fried fish, etc). I think the quality is probably always consistent. There were many people picking...up food while we were there, too. We'll go back. The server was fun and efficient.More
I have been going to Reidy’s for years and lately it has gone down hill. If you ask for something to be cooked well done it either comes super crispy or under done. The wait staff seems to be not happy with their work either....It used to be a fun place to go and now it’s below average. The interior needs and upgrade also, it’s rather dingy.More
