We played this course at the end of April, so the grounds were in need of some TLC but still enjoyable. The staff was friendly and got us off on time (always appreciated). The course has some interesting holes and was fun and relaxing to play.

Picked up a great deal off of GolfNow 27$ with a cart. Fun round, a little slow, but it was Saturday afternoon. Greens were quick, rough heavy and wet, fairways & bunkers in good shape.
We would golf here again.

Appalled, disappointed and disgusted with Green Valley's absence of COVID precautions. NO MASKS on cooks, employees, members or guests who were behaving as if it was pre-COVID. The leadership must be sorely lacking to allow this type or reckless behavior. Our Portsmouth and Aquidneck Island residents's health is worth more than a risky day at the golf course. Green Valley needs to get its act together.

Green Valley is a great place to enjoy dining. John St. and his staff are just fantastic. The food is also great and the variety of the menu is second to none. Green Valley golf experience is also good. The course is challenging and kept in tip top shape by the crew

Went out to dinner with 9 people and no reservation. Sat us right away. It was pretty busy with only a few open tables. Our server got our drink order and told us the specials. We had a chance to chat and enjoy their bread and dipping oil. Then our orders were taken. The apps we chose were the Calamari and the Clams Zuppa. Both really tasty! Especially the sauce topping and the zuppa... everyone enjoyed their entrees, the Jambalaya special was excellent, the shrimp were plump and donejust right, not dried out or over cooked. The only think I wished for was an after dinner espresso...

I had some time to kill before my flight out of Rhode Island and wanted to play a round. I showed up to the course and the staff took care of me. I didn't have my own clubs with me but they gave me rentals, they even gave me a Ray Cook putter and new Callaway XR16 Driver instead of the stock clubs that came with the rental set. And the cashier even threw in a free bag of tees for me. The course was in great shape for that time of year and the greens rolled very well. I didn't have a great score, but I had a great time. I would fully recommend this course, for the service alone.

This is a review specifically for private lessons with Gary. Bottom line: I hope he is fired.
I play golf myself and normally hear good things about Green Valley. About a month ago, I called to book a one hour introductory golf session for my mother's 50th birthday.
I had no idea that she would be assigned to a sexist, xenophobic, and plain bad instructor. Here's how our brief interaction proceeded: we came up to the driving range and I explained to Gary that this is my mom's first time playing and I was hoping she'll get introduced to the basics. The blank stare I got from him at that point looked surprising to me, but I took it as him simply being distracted. I stepped away while they were practicing so I could see my mom play golf for the first time.
He gave her a club and started explaining the swing. She didn't do so well in the beginning but visibly improved as the class progressed. 15 minutes into the class, I see Gary walking back with my mom saying that the class is over. I explain that this can't be right because I booked a 1 hour lesson. Gary replies that only he decides when the class is over and offers me a $10 refund on a $50 lesson and a (!!!) used golf club to make up for the time. I am obviously confused. My mom is the nicest person in the world and so she of course accepts this clearly unacceptable behaviour as given. To not spoil her birthday completely, I tell her I need to use the restroom but go back to pro shop to find out what happened.
I politely ask Gary about it, explaining that I don't understand why the class was over so quickly. He immediately gets extremely aggressive and tells me he could not teach my mom because she was (!!!) tired from the swing. No one can ever be so tired from practicing at the range to end a class 15 minutes in. I replied that this didn't seem to be the case because she was improving as they went along. Gary starts to yell at me at that point, shoves the remaining $40 in my hands and says (!!!) we should never some back again. I've been to many golf courses over the years, but I've never seen anything like this before.
I asked my mom on our way out what happened. She said she felt like he did not feel like explaining anything to her because she speaks with a foreign accent.
I am just so disgusted with this experience and the person behind it that I can't bring myself to encourage her to try playing again.
Bottom line, I hope that Green Valley does the right thing at this point and this time tells Gary to "never come back again."

First time at this course and naturally it would rain! Even though the course was in great shape. Our foursome had a great round, just not in the top 5! Will definitely return.

Green Valley CC is a certainly a well maintained public golf course. It is pretty open and really not too difficult. The rates are mid to upper range, not inexpensive but not real pricey. The other players and staff were rather indifferent [and mostly unfriendly] to us non-members. [PS: We are Seniors, were dressed properly in good golf attire, and were very respectful of the game and the course.] The biggest fault of the course layout was the total lack of "signage" to indicate what hole we were playing, how far it was to the pin [had to refer to the scorecard] from the tee box, fairway yardage, and EVEN directions to the next hole. Absolutely nothing was marked and this is very annoying for those of us not familiar with the course. I do not believe we will return if we are again in the area.

This is a casual restaurant mainly for the "after golf crowd" but we went there because it was close to where we were staying and they could accommodate our group of 8 on short notice. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of appetizer and entree selections. I had the lobster ravioli--excellent!

Tried this hidden jewel nested within the Green valleys golf course. A little tricky to find but worth the effort. Had the paella for two was very good with generous portions of shrimp scallops little necks and half a lobster swordfish and salmon fillets. Salads with warmed dressing sweeten butter with assortment of breads and rolls. linen tablecloth and napkins. Nice touch. Eat in the dinning room was a little noisy though from the bar next door.
