About
Casual, creative dining in Narragansett, Rhode Island. Named after a lifeguard chair and gathering spot on Narragansett Town Beach, Chair 5 is the signature restaurant of the new Narragansett boutique hotel The Break. Chair 5 features hand-crafted, locally-sourced, and seasonally-inspired menus prepared with simplicity and style. Chef Basil Yu blends his background in fine dining with The Break's surfer vibe to present an elevated - yet casual - beach inspired bistro menu. The first-floor main restaurant and bar looks out onto the pool area and seats 50, and a rooftop lounge offers more casual outdoor seating with views of the sunset, ocean, and Newport's Pell Bridge. A definite must if you are staying at the hotel. Menu was somewhat limited but we were not disappointed.

Came in with a friend on Friday evening and sat at the upstairs bar. It was just us and one other couple so it wasn’t a very busy night yet. I had previously looked up the menu and had seen the Truffle Butter Grilled Cheese...More

I read the negative reviews beforehand, so I can’t say I wasn’t warned. We booked through Open Table, which didn’t say the main restaurant was closed and only the rooftop cafe was open. They had live music which was nice, but the service was incredibly...More

Had a wonderful dinner here on our last night of vacation. Wife had oysters and the scallop special. My son and I had the boneless fried chicken. Everything was excellent. Annabelle, our waitress, was excellent as well.
