Great dinner… stuffed quahaugs for app… very good! Unfortunately had to take dinner to go because my son had a terrible headache; but I’ll have to say even the seafood to go was great which says a lot!

We got "curbside" due to covid19 at George's tonight and WOW it was fantastic!! Two 1 1/2 lb hardshell lobsters with a bottle of wine for $50! Are you kidding? Placed this dinner on our table after getting home and posted pic's to all our friends to see the great meal we would be sitting down to during such trying times. Wish I could show you the picture, but believe me it was fantastic and so were the staff that quickly served us on the phone and curbside. Please support these wonderful local businesses!

After recently moving to beautiful Narragansett, I heard that George's was a RI staple with a gorgeous view and the freshest seafood around. It's located right in the picturesque fishing port of Galilee, and my server Erika told me that all of their seafood comes fresh right off the docks! After asking her for some recommendations, I decided to try the whole roasted fish. The catch of the day all depends on what the fishermen bring in that day - the day I visited it was Fluke! Erika explained that not only is this fish caught locally which supports the fishermen, but it is also a very sustainable option. I was so happy to hear that this is something that George's considers when serving seafood. I also had some $1 oysters during Buck A Shuck (all day every Tuesday!) which Erika told me were grown on a farm right down the road. George's even took her and their other servers on a tour of the farm last week so they could learn more about the process and share that information with us, which is so awesome! Erika was very knowledgeable and friendly, and of course the view of the setting sun was to die for! Plus they are doing a great job keeping everyone socially distanced, and Erika offered me hand sanitizer throughout my meal. This made me feel very comfortable dining here. George's is now my favorite restaurant in Narragansett!

We arrived and had a short wait for a table. We were seated next to a very loud HVAC unit on the deck, so we asked to be moved. We moved and everything went down hill from there. Apparently none of the servers were assigned our table. We waited about 35 minutes, meanwhile several customers seated after us had their orders taken and food served. We asked a server if someone could take our order and she said she would get someone. About 15 minutes later and still no server. Had to speak to the manager who comped us an app and said she would give a 50% discount on a bottle of wine. Ok, stuff happens and we figured everything would be ok. Wife's pasta was supposed to have sun dried tomatoes, but instead had regular tomatoes (wife does not like regular tomatoes) The fish trio I had contained three tiny bay scallops about the size of a nickel, a tiny baked stuffed shrimp and a stuffed flounder that was all stuffing, the flounder could not have weighed more than 3 ounces. The manager did try her best and comped us the bottle of wine, but that did not overcome the food and almost hour long wait to be get service.

We decided to try George's for a late night meal. We ordered the fried whole belly clams for take out. Upon the designated time, we arrived at the restaurant. The food was not ready when we arrived only to learn the woman at the table could not find our order. So where did it go, we do not know? 15 minutes later, it was located with the correct receipt and order. When we looked in the bag, there were no napkins, utensils or condiments to eat with the food. No exaggeration, it was another fifteen minutes until a staff person located these items. Why? Even a different staff person couldn't figure this out for us. When we got home to eat the food (literally a five minute drive) the food was cold. Not even luke warm. The clams were rubbery. That is not how this dish should be prepared. The fries were soggy. I have no idea why this would have happened at this price, especially at a seafood restaurant. It's despicable. We cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's not the first time we've eaten here, but it will certainly by the last. Each visit and meal has been a disappointment for years. This time the food and service was awful, actually appalling It was such a disappointment for our getaway trip. Save your money, appetite and sanity. We highly recommend Champlins' Seafood across the road/parking lot. There are too many excellent seafood restaurants nearby. No one wants or needs to eat rubbery seafood. George's gives Galilee/Narragansett a bad reputation.

We both ordered fried fish sandwiches from the take out window on 7/3. The one piece of fish was smaller than the palm of my hand. Thought you threw those fish back? Make sure you ask for ketchup or tarter sauce or you won’t get it. Last year the inside dining had great fried flounder not ready to eat indoors yet for me.

Thank you for your feedback about your experience at our takeout window. We really do value the comments form our guests as we use it to become better at what we do. I will be sure to discuss your feedback with our culinary team at the takeout window and ensure that the portioning for the fried fish sandwich is correct. We do generally give out appropriate condiments with orders, and I am sorry to hear that that was not the case with yours. I sincerely hope that you will give us another try sometime soon - and remember, we do still have outdoor seating if you are more comfortable with that! We would love to have you return and be wowed by our fresh fish sandwich. If you have any other comments, questions, or concerns, please feel free to reach out to admin@georgesofgalilee.com. Again, thank you for sharing your experience with us.

I went to George’s the other night with some friends and I have to say that our experience was nothing short of excellent. For starters, the food was delicious! I had the clam-cakes and decided to try their Rhode Island clear chowder for a change. I was not surprised when our waiter informed us that the George’s RI chowder has won numerous awards over the years with its savory flavor and abundance of fresh clams. For my entree, I had the seafood marinara and it was to die for. It had just the right amount of seasoning and was loaded with shrimp, scallops, and mussels. Our waiter also informed us that the seafood is sustainably sourced from local waters, which was really good to hear. One of my friends is not a huge seafood guy, but he was very impressed by the carefully crafted menu with such a wide variety of options to suit everyone’s preferences. The waiter was friendly, attentive, and personable which made the overall dining experience that much better. From what my friends and I observed, the staff was very diligent with sanitizing everything, and they did everything they could to make us feel safe and comfortable, which says a lot considering the current Covid health crisis. I liked that their was an array of seasonal specials such as speciality cocktails, food, and desserts. After our meal we decided to check out the Tiki bar and it definitely exceeded our expectations and lived up to the hype. I felt like I was in Hawaii or the Bahamas with the unique and creative setup on the beach. I will definitely be back soon and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a one of a kind dining experience!

All of my previous visits to Georges have been fine. When deciding where to go for a casual 42nd wedding anniversary dinner I was not concerned as to how good it would be. The food has always been consistently good. This visit was not what was expected. We were never offered water or bread. When we did get water, it was never refilled. The sushi app was very good. We waited 45 minutes for a hot lobster claw roll and fish and chips. I asked the host to check on our order, and within a few minutes our food was brought to the table. The lobster meat was cold and so tough my wife would not eat it. My fish and chips was so over cooked the beer batter was burnt and so loaded with oil. I tried to eat the fish without the beer batter, but the fish was so over cooked it was like cardboard. Our waitress did not come to the table until she came to ask about desert. I asked to speak to management. A manager came to the table and apologized. I will give Georges another chance, hopefully with better results.

Hi Dennis, thank you for your visit and your honest feedback about your experience. This is a difficult time for business in general, but it is especially true in the restaurant industry. Hiring has been basically impossible, and many of our previous staff members have found jobs outside the restaurant industry or chosen to stay out of work, rather than return. As we are heading into our busy season, we are doing the best that we can to hire and train new members of our team, and many of them are still learning and getting adjusted here. I say this not as an excuse, but to give you an accurate idea of the struggle that we have been facing. I would like to speak with you so that I can get a few more details about your experience so that we can correct these problems in the future. You can give us a call anytime at (401) 783-2306 and ask to speak to me (Gianna) or any other Manager on duty. If it is easier for you, you can also email me at dining@georgesofgalilee.com. As I said, we are working with our new team members every day to get them trained to our standards of quality. I would like to invite you back, so that you can see how spectacular a George's experience can be. I hope that you will return, and when you do I trust that your experience will exceed your expectations. Again, thank you very much for your feedback. It is crucial to our improvement. If you have any other questions, comments, or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out. I hope to hear from you regarding your next visit soon.

The place is fun, the location is perfect but! The seafood pie that was described as scallops, shrimp, scrod & veggies in a toasted bread bowl simmered in lobster sauce was the most disappointing thing the whole night. There were 2 scallops. There was a small shrimp. There was no scrod that I tasted & the veggies consisted of celery, celery & a slice of red pepper. I’m sorry I ordered it.

Had dinner Saturday night and sat at the inside back bar. It's off season but the tiki bar was rocking outside and there was a wait. There are many options of places to sit but if you don't want to wait, the back bar is almost always free, still has a beautiful view and quite roomy. We ordered Mai Tais and sauteed calamari. They have the deep fried kind but we enjoy the sauteed one. Our only disappointment was the sirloin dish we ordered to split (why we didn't order a seafood dish is beyond me!). They don't have a filet mignon which would have been a better choice. The asparagus side was extra but worth it and mashed potatoes made up for the dryness of the steak. Bartenders and waitstaff are always friendly and there's always a good game to watch on t.v. or watch the boats and Block Island ferry go by. We will of course visit again as it's our go-to restaurant especially during the summertime months.

My college friends and I came here for dinner last week. We had 3 courses, my favorite dish was the seafood trio. Baked to perfection with delicious mashed potatoes. All my friends from out of state were beyond pleased with their dishes and our server Maya was an absolute delight. Thank you for an amazing memory at such a tough time. 10/10 recommend

My husband and I have dined at George’s three times since moving to RI, and each meal has been unimpressive. Quite frankly, the only thing we’ve tried on the menu that’s been good are the flounder fish and chips (really good). The soups, sushi rolls, stuffed flounder, fish special, even the obnoxiously minuscule small Caesar salad ($7.99 for legitimately 6 bite sized pieces of romaine and a few croutons) have all been extremely disappointing to just plain bad. Waitstaff is always friendly, but on our last visit (a Saturday evening), the service was abysmally slow. We waited about 35 minutes before anyone even came over to bring us menus. We witnessed more than one table leave in frustration after waiting just as long for any sort of recognition. If we ever return to George’s, it’ll just be for the flounder fish and chips, and it won’t be during the summer.

We enjoy that there are views from every window. Hubby got the Gluten Free shrimp scampi and I got fish and chips. The meals were brought out of the kitchen with I notices our server, Liz, gently lift garlic toast off the bowl of scampi, then set it down in front of my husband. I asked her if she just lifted the toast off that meal, she said yes. She offered to bring him another meal, but I couldn't believe she tried to serve it to him. Glad I noticed. Hubby ate very little of the second meal. he left 90% of it. Just too uneasy to enjoy his meal. My slaw was made with that gassed pre-cut cabbage. The taste of that gas is such a turn off, I couldn't eat it. My flounder was delicious.

Hello, thank you for visiting and letting us know your feedback. We have a strict allergen policy in place which our servers and kitchen must follow, and this is a clear violation of that. We take this very seriously and I will absolutely be speaking to your server to ensure that this does not happen again. I sincerely apologize for your experience and would like to make things right. Please email me at dining@georgesofgalilee.com or give the restaurant a call at (401) 783-2306 and ask to speak to a manager so that we can discuss. We require all of our servers to be Food Safety Allergen certified.
