We had lunch here waiting for the ferry to block island. Its a casual place where you order at the window, a number is called and you collect your meal on a tray. We ate outside overlooking the harbor and over fishing boats. Quite scenic. The food was really fresh and delicious.

Can't get any fresher than this. Casual atmostphere, beach scene with water view. Nice, relaxing. One negative thing is waiting in line for food, especially during the summer.

Chowder, bisque, stuffies, fish and chips - all delicious and fresh. Prepare to stand in line during tourist season; if the line ends at the bottom of the stairs, it will take you about 35-45 min to get to the order window. Order and pay at the window, note your number on the receipt. Find a table, enjoy a drink... More

Stopped in for lunch and sat at the bar with my brothers. The bartender Karen was friendly and helpful and had lots of advice of the surrounding area with personal reviews of all the restaurants and hotspots to go to. Wide selection of liquor and a decent selection of beers not only on tap but also in bottles. They definitely... More

Simply the best seafood. I've been coming to this place for at least 30 years. It's great to shop in the store and bring home your own seafood to cook or to eat upstairs where the food is great. They have a bar and view that are best in the area. You must go here. Wait.......don't go here....I don't want... More

We have dined here a number of times and always have a mixed experience, but overall very good. On our most recent visit, I ordered some cherry stone clams on the half shell which were some of the best clams I have ever had--truly exceptional. But some of our other orders were far less impressive. The steamer clams were tasty... More

My family has been vacationing in this area of Rhode Island for 50+ years, and we still make a point to go to Champlin's every year. The seafood is fresh and always delicious, and you get to see great sunsets over the water. The portions are generous, but it is "cafeteria style", as some other reviewers have mentioned. That is,... What a great, low key place to get a delicious, fresh seafood meal. Order at the window and wait (not long) for your number to be called. Ample seating inside or out. If you are indoor, there are wall to wall windows for wonderful viewing of the boats bringing in the fresh seafood. Separate bar section to order your alcoholic... More

For a cafeteria style eatery, this can be pretty pricey. The food is good. The view is good. Not our 1st choice.

We were told that the food at Champlin's was excellent. We went there to check it out to see if it was suitable to bring our 3 1/2 year old grandchildren. Our daughters did not want to eat inside the restaurant but at an outside picnic table where the children could run around. The view was spectacular. All sorts of... More
