My wife and, having read a positive review in the New Bedford Standard Times took the beautiful country drive from Marion, Ma to have a bite at the Tap Room, a restaurant in the basement of the lovely Stone House Inn. The Inn is beautiful and enjoys cooling breezes out on Sakonnet Point in Rhode Island. We didn't stay at... More

Stone House was dirty, the service was fair, the continental breakfast was simple and likely picked up at the local supermarket. Our room smelled like a cat litter box , there were cob webs and flies throughout the room. The outdoor deck was dirty with bird droppings throughout. There was garbage in the room leftover from previous guests.

New owners have done a marvelous job!!! They open at 4:30 so we decided to go early for dinner because of rain. The lobster roll with tap house chips with sharp cheddar was yummy. Look for the appetizer tap house chips with blue cheese. The strip steak was perfectly done and HUGE!

A great location - close to the beach that you can walk too. The rooms have been recently renovated and area air conditioned. There seem to be three types of rooms - 5 or so in the old house, a few in the "barn" and then a few in a new contemporary addition. We stayed in the Lantern room on... More

My wife and I have been coming to Little Compton, RI for a few years now, but this is our first stay at the Stone House Inn. This an historic house located between the golf club and the yacht club at the end of st. rt. 77. This was a wonderful experience. As this was the first weekend of its... More

Last time I went by the entire establishment was closed and there were articles about its bankruptcy, auction in the papers. It had been extensively renovated and had a nice spa and restaurant though very overpriced --even with the great view across huge lawn leading to the sea. When I checked a year or two later it was closed. I... More

My wife and I have eaten here a few times and the restaurant is awesome. Although we've heard that the restaurant and hotel has partnered with a local caterer to take care of all the food and beverage operations. We've heard from numerous people that they've done a fantastic job at other locations and are looking forward to seeing the... More

The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team that put everything they have into running it. The ambiance is a cozy rustic feel, and the dining room is well taken care of. The service is top notch and very attentive to guests. The food is absolutely delicious. The chef personally recommended the special of the night and he... More

Incompetent but well-meaning service. I'm sure the kitchen was a disaster, but an hour for two salads and a cup of soup is not so great. Main course arrived 1 minute after the salads. On the plus side, the servers were clearly appalled but seemed helpless and too familiar with the problems. The ambiance is very nice and that helps... More

I have been to the Tap Room at the Stone House many times over the years. The food and service are great right now....LOVED the Fig & Prosciutto Ravioli and the Caesar salad app....the last time I was there we were concerned because there was a very large wedding on the grounds (magnificent views, BTW) outside, but you never would...
