Visited with my family this week looking for some good German food since we had lived there for several years and were anxious to try a German themed local restaurant. We started with the large soft pretzel with some mustard and cheese dip. It was...More

Thank you so much for the review. You may have the pomme frites with the schnitzel anytime, we choose to offer the spatzle on the menu, but you may have what you want. I also appreciate that you get that German chocolate cake is more...More

First visit for two Bristol newcomers and visiting friends. We all had different meals and all raved about the food. I frequently have whatever chicken sandwich a restaurant has on offer and the chicken schnitzel sandwich goes right to the top of my favorite list....More

As one who grew up on weekly German cuisine at the Fort / Student Prince with founding German exile Chef Rupert, and his grand collection of well-displayed steins, I am a critic of such restaurants. The Fort is in the old Springfield Republican newspaper building,...More

First, let’s talk about the large Bavarian pretzel (see photo). Best pretzel I’ve ever had. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I favored the mustard over the cheese sauce. But it just looked so awesome presented on the decorative hook. Kudos to...More

The menue is varied with many options and the food is good quality, but Not what I would expect from this type of Resturant. The owner or owners dad is a roaming man around the dinning room updating tables of the authenticy of the food and...More

Thank you for the review. Yes it is a mixed menu. Why not be all German. Frankly, because we'd be closed. I believe in dense cities and places people on vacation are willing to drive for the German experience, like New Hampshire, a restaurant might...More

Been to Redlefsen’s a number of times over the years. It’s still good and worth trying, but seems to have slipped a bit and hope the owner tightens things back up. This time, my steak was pretty thinly cut and then overdone when I ordered...More

Although the menu features a variety of foods, we came here for the German food. I will add that I grew up on German food. One of our party chose a non-German dish and was satisfied. I would suggest that this is not the place...More

Redlefsen's is a German - American Restaurant which celebrates it's German heritage while allowing a percentage of its menu to satisfy other worldly palates. The porcelain beer towers pour German drafts in proper glassware, including das boot. The schnitzels and sauerbraten are as authentic as if you were in Bavaria. But if someone in your group must have calamari, Redlefsen's will be able to provide one of the best in the State.
