We stopped by for lunch recently while in Barrington, after receiving insistent recommendations from several local residents. Our group was welcomed warmly, seated promptly, and quickly presented with several specials and menu options. Those of us who chose lunch items were amazed at the taste,...freshness and abundance of these offerings: pulled pork sandwich was a personal favorite. My wife and her friends chose breakfast selections, and were equally impressed with their meals, including homemade breads, and corned beef hash. In short, a great meal and dining experienceMore

Food was excellent and by far the best so far in Barrington. The steak and salmon cooked to perfection and great flavor. Well done

I can only comment on the breakfast experience here. I have eaten here on several occasions over the last year, most recently last week. Quiet place. Friendly and efficient staff. I have not had anything but excellent food here. I am not typically a sausage...eater, but I tried the homemade sausage patties and they were fantastic. Prices are fair for the quality. Convenient parking. I’m glad I live close enough I can stop here on a regular basis.More

We came for brunch for the first time with our friends and it won’t be our last time! The eggs Benedict with pork bellies, waffles with fruit and egg dishes were delicious and presented beautifully. The service was friendly and attentive too. What’s not to...like? It’s a perfect place to enjoy brunch on a lazy Sunday or any day, for that matter.More

Leon’s is a fun place to start your day. The servers are polite & accommodating. My husband & I enjoy meeting our friends for brunch. The specials menu changes weekly. We enjoy the Lorraine Scrambler or the omelette of day & occasionally top it off...with a Bloody Mary (which has a bite) Fun place-Highly recommend. Enjoy!More

Very good spot in Barrington. Kinda off the beaten path in a strip mall. The hours and days of the operation seem to change so call ahead. The food was really good the service was ok. We were in a rush that day (which is...our problem not theirs), and everything is cooked to order so it took a while. Be prepared to wait but when you do eat it will be worth it. Good experience!More

I love this place in Barrington, off the path and a nice spot for locals. The food is outstanding and a welcome change to the normal breakfast.

We had brunch at Leon’s again this weekend and ir is always a treat. Chef Bill Andrews will prepare dishes especially to your taste and his home made breads are exceptional. The smoked salmon Benedict is well dressed and perfectly seasoned. Not to be missed.

Visit this little cafe for fabulous breakfasts and lunches. And, if you are fortunate enough to catch one of Chef Andrews reserve dinners, you will be delighted. His preparations are a symphony in gastronomy.

We stop at Leon's often for their Sunday brunch. They have many wonderful regular menu items for breakfast and lunch, but on Sundays there are added specials. This week the Smoked Salmon Benedict on potato latkes was outstanding. It is a small place but the...friendly atmosphere and very reasonable prices will make you want to return again and again.More

I almost hate to review this nice quaint restaurant as it is fantastic and would hate to see it get over crowded, but what can I do. Excellent breakfast and lunch and great service. Outstanding!!!

Went there for breakfast after reading the buzz about how good it was. I thought the food was under seasoned and just average. Maybe my expectations were too high, but was nothing too memorable.

Leon's is one of those rare places that can actually stand by the claim that everything (except the rye bread) is made right there! The sandwiches and soups are great, but this is one place where the sides are delicious as well.

Me and a guest went to brunch at Leon's. The atmosphere was great, a small cafe with great music and art work on the walls. The place was busy so we were expecting a great brunch. Our waitress came to the table and instantly we...realized she was in a bad mood. No smile and what she said seemed rehearsed. My guests asked for milk instead of cream with their tea and got a "Okk???" We tend to ignore those things if everything else goes well. We waited for our brunch which was ok we are never in a hurry however when we got our brunch everything was burnt. I got the platter with eggs, toast which was their house made focaccia with thyme, their hash, sausage, thick cut bacon, and potatoes. The eggs and toast was great (more on that soon) but the bacon was way overcooked; was like I was eating shoe leather. As someone who works in the industry as a chef, I knew that is was left on too long. The sausage was undercooked (pink in the middle) the potatoes were almost smashed and hardly any texture and the hash was more burnt then not. My guest had the special waffle which was also a bit overdone and not able to just cut with a fork. We were asked how it was and before we answered she was walking away. At the end I really loved their bread and saw on a menu previously that they sold it by the loaf. I asked to purchase one. I heard the waitress go ask the chef then some mumbling to which i was told they didn't have enough because they also use it in the restaurant. They are closed the next few days so I knew that this was all because they didn't want to make more for wednesday. If you offer to sell it on the menu, you should sell it and if not have a sign in your door saying that you are sold out. The plus is there was this male waiter who offered us more tea and more to drink when our waitress did not and was very pleasant. I think they have a great concept but needs to work more on their customer service. I understand if some dishes come out burnt or sometimes there are problems but for my guests waffle to be burnt and 3 out of 5 things on my plate to be burnt and the customer service and to end with not being able to buy something you say you sell, is disappointing. Again, working in the food industry I know some things go wrong but with the waitress also not being enjoyable, it made the whole experience kind of lackluster.More

I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty my breakfast here was. I just got a simple eggs over easy with bacon, but the bacon was thick and crispy and delicious, the eggs done right, the potatoes prepared well, and the toast extra tasty -- it...clearly wasn't just slices of ordinary bread. Service was friendly and efficient and my friend's BLT looked impressive, too -- though a bit big and perhaps hard to bite. Thumbs up! We'll return.More
