The experience was ok, nothing spectacular or special which you might expect from this place. The wine menu has grown and somewhat impressive. I would not recommend the calamari, the quality and sauce is good the preparation not successful. The grilled broccoli was seasoned nicely...although slightly under cooked. Wait staff was all very nice and helpful. Much of the food around appeared great, yet this experience was just fair. Not really certain that I saw anything here to entice me to come back given the expectation and value delivered.More

We ate here during restaurant week and did the prix fix dinner for $50. I ordered the calamari, shad and creme brulee. My husband ordered the gnocchi, duck and brownie dessert. Aside from the calamari and the gnocchi the food was bland and underseasoned. The...duck was tough, the greens served on the side were bitter and the potatoes were undercooked. The brownie with ice cream was frozen and what I can only assume was supposed to be whip cream along side the creme brulee was tasteless. We have always enjoyed eating here but the last several times we have eaten here have not been good. There are other better options in York for way less than $150. We won't be back.More

My boyfriend and I dined at the Left Bank for Valentine’s Day, and thoroughly enjoyed the food and experience. We started with the calamari which is the best around! Although the actual breading doesn’t have much flavor, the banana pepper sauce steals the show! We...both decided on the strip steak for dinner, and were very glad that we did. It was cooked a perfect medium and was very tender! My boyfriend loved the Brussels sprouts and I had delicious mashed potatoes and greens! For dessert, we finished with the candy bar. Service was outstanding as always, and they even gave me a flower with the check! Yes, the meal was expensive, but it is/was worth every penny for a date night or celebration in York!More

Ordered fish which was raw and cold in the middle, sent it back to the kitchen. Ordered beef fillet, med, it arrived raw and bloody in the middle. Side dish for the beef was bok choy and potato. When that arrived, potatos were hard and...had absolutely no flavor at all and I only had about a teaspoon of bok choy. My husband and I have been going there for years and years for special occasions and holidays, we will not be returning. This is not the same restaurant that we experienced in the past!More

We arrived in York this afternoon for a wedding tomorrow. Our dinner at The Left Bank was exceptional. The food and service is top notch! The Broccoli tomato appetizer was fabulous. Highly recommend this restaurant whenever you visit York. Steve

If you like hair in your food and being treated like crap, then this place is for you! We found a hair in our food - a really long hair- and all we received was a nonchalant “sorry.” We then received our bill and asked...if the hair would be taken into consideration. The chef or owner came over to talk to us and talked to us like we were in the wrong. He was condescending and compared finding a hair in your food to buying a shirt with a hole in it. He said with Covid happening they are not doing anything for anyone and that we made him “waste” the first dish he made so he wasn’t doing anything for us. We made him waste it? Because we wouldn’t eat around a hair? Wow! I’ve never seen someone so rude to customers. You want to be treated to good food and good management? Check out rock fish or the first post. Don’t go here at all.More

I'd like to fill in some gaps and corrections. You ordered food, and our calamari dish went out to them and we missed on our quality check and a hair was in the dish that we did not see. The server brought it back and...More

I had one night in town for dinner and picked the right place. What a great meal. I only wish there were a way to go over five stars. From the moment I arrived all of the staff were amazing. Gretta the hostess, Sam the...Bartender and the wonderful owners Mandy and Sean. I sat at the bar because I was solo, but the atmosphere is great. I had some cocktails and the most enjoyable appetizer, entree and dessert. I can't wait to be in the area again to visit this establishment. I highly recommend dinner here if you are in town.More

We loved the West Bank Restaurant & Bar. The food was absolutely delicious (be aware - small portions) and the wine selection superb. The fact that the road is closed Fridays and Saturdays so restaurants can put their tables onto the street is simply charming...and makes for a great atmosphere. Very friendly and attentive service. Will definitely go there again the next time we are in York!!!More

This is our second time with the Left Bank. This time, to celebrate our daughter's 25th Birthday. For our appetizer, we had baked oysters. Oh my, so good! For our entre, I had the Elysian Fields Lamb with apple butter. VERY tasty! My wife had...the LB salad with shrimp. Large portion and large shrimp with a generous amount. Our daughter had the Grilled Caesar Salad - it has to be the best salad ever... grilled romaine with grated parmesan & buttermilk dressing. (Her words). 16oz Porterhouse Steak - delicious with zucchini, beets, and sweet potato silk. The service was as excellent this time around as it was the first time. We love this place!More

This has got to be the very best restaurant ever. Just took my husband to the Left Bank for his birthday. We shared an appetizer, I had the filet and he had the crab cake and we shared a side dish. Of course, we had...desert! It was the perfect amount of food and we finished it all! Happy husband for sure!More

The Left Bank is top-notch even for to-go food during pandemic. We were nervous about getting to-good food, since it needs to stay a certain temperature until it gets home! The Left Bank was spectacular! The calamari still tasted just as fresh, and the banana...pepper sauce is still the best in York. We also had the grilled caesar which they smartly did not pre-dress. The to-go process was quick and efficient. We will be back to get To-Go again soon!More

It was out first visit to York PA for personal business. Since we had a few days to kill, we were able to check out several local restaurants during our stay. We arrived in late afternoon and sat at the bar area. As soon as...we had sat down, we were greeted by one of the bartenders. She was very friendly and welcoming. We later found out she also made absolute to die for delicious cocktails!!!!! We had a great chat with her about the local community and current news. She recommended we try the Flash Fried Calamari. It is quite an interesting dish because I love grilled calamari and think fried calamari killed the flavour and freshness. For Left Banks, they did their Flash Fried Calamari a little bit differently; it is an in between grill and fried. I really enjoyed that dish. It is refreshing and a new perspective of a traditional boring appetizer. We also had Teriyaki Seared Tuna and Scallop & Foie. The Tuna was seared just right. The Scallop and Foie combo melt in your mouth. Since we were too full up with cocktails (yes, you gotta try their cocktails!!), my husband and I shared one entree. We had the Braised Chuck Roast and it was cooked tender and juicy. It did not disappoint. Overall, we really enjoyed the service, the cocktails and the appetizers. We will return this town so we could come back to this restaurant to try more dishes in the future.More
