Traveling for business and dining alone I prefer the bar where I can watch TV and maybe have some conversation with the barmaid or other solo travelers. The restaurant was very busy for a Wednesday night in my opinion. Always a good sign for good...food. I enjoyed a Crabcake Sandwich at the bar with a couple of cocktails. The barmaid was always moving keeping up with a busy bar and orders from the waitresses. She did make time for light conversation during her few free moments. Good Food, Nice Bar, Great Atmosphere. Would definitely go again. Parking can be challenging, but not impossible. Recommended.More

I placed an order and they through 11 ketchup packets all over my food. YUCK! Why would you throw dirty things like ketchup packets all over something that will be eaten. Threw the entire order away and dispute the charge.More

They are getting to the point where they think pretty highly of themselves. Have been a steady customer for years. Food is very good, you pay fir it and service doesn’t warrant adding a tip to party of 5 or more. If you are good...enough people will pay. Also started adding a 15% gratuity to take out orders??? Again, 10% for answering the phone and bagging an order ok, not 15%. Understand what the last year has been but don’t try and make it up all at once. You lost a long time steady customer..More

We stopped at The Paddock en route from Virginia to PA yesterday for a late lunch/early dinner. To be honest, we have not dined indoors in over a year and this was the first time. We wanted a break and a nice meal and fast...food in the car was just not going to cut it. We are both vaccinated and while we aren't planning to make a habit of indoor dining yet, I was surprised at how comfortable I was. The place (including rest rooms) was spotless, and while we were only about 3 feet from the nearest table of guests, it was an off time (about 2:30) and it was not crowded. We had cocktails which were delicious and well-made, cream of crab soup, and fried oysters, which were absolutely wonderful, not inexpensive at $27, but the quality was fantastic. Our servers were young but efficient, polite, and very pleasant. Really no complaints with the dining experience and we will return when we are in the area again. Food was excellent. A 20% gratuity was added to our bill, with which I have no problem. In these tough times with reduced restaurant capacity, I am glad to see a place taking care of its waitstaff to ensure they are still making a living wage, or as close as possible.More

We made reservations and even with the mask wearing and social distancing requirements, were very pleased. Food was excellent from scallops to steaks, baked potato to soup and everything else in between, all served hot and as requested. Their onion rings were the best I've...ever had. Kids loved the match stick fries. Definitely will return and highly recommend.More

We did take out and I wasn't present when the meals were picked up, so I can't review the restaurant itself. However I can say the crab cake was superb and the fries were fantastic. The onion rings are are great as well.

First time we visited and we enjoyed one of the best seafood meals. Celebrating a special occasion and happy of our choice of locations and the meal was superb. Our server was outstanding and did a fantastic job of checking in with us on a...regular basis and wanting to refill our water. Now this could be because it increases automatic tip. However, she was a great customer service representative of The Paddock. While I understand the many guidelines and restrictions placed on restaurants by the Governor, I am not sure this location is following all or just ones that increase revenue. Not looking for a response with attitude, please. I do not understand the water issue when serving other beverages direct in a plastic cup, but not interested to debate the $2. The big concern was when a group of 3 ladies were seated at the table directly beside us and one person was seated about 3 feet from me. I was not comfortable with this decision and did not relax to end our meal. Not a positive end of the very great Paddock experience. We do plan on returning in the future. However, will ask for specific table that is further away from others. The 20% automatic gratuity was not an issue as we always give at least that when we receive the type of service we received at the Paddock.More

Dined outside after being told that inside capacity had been reached. We ordered tap water and were told that bottled water was being served in place of tap water. After ordering a salad and asking several times for dressing , we received checks with 20%...percent gratuity already added and a 2.00 charge for water. When I asked about the availability of tap water, I was told that bottled water was the only option. As a party of 3, the check listed the party as a group of 5 (and another table of 2 also reported their check said they were a party of 5). Upon questioning this 20% charge, we were told that we were sitting in the “VIP” area of the restaurant (which was outside on the deck). We reported that we were not notified of this designation and nowhere were we given the option to “opt out” of this seat. Upon speaking to the manager, we were informed that the bottled water was “more sanitary” than tap water. What would be the most sanitary would be staff actually wearing masks over their noses (i.e the correct way to wear a mask). Speaking of unclassy, (as mentioned by the manager in a previous review)I am unsure why the manager is attacking people on this site and blaming the customers on the Governor’s orders to shut down restaurants. When customers are paying $18-30 dollars for an entree, “complaining” about paying for water (which as a business, is your decision to serve only bottled water) is warranted. I’m not sure when COVID turned into an excuse to charge top dollar for mediocre service. You say that you are operating at “25 percent” capacity, with the attitude and service provided, you will be probably serving much less than that.More

First I would like to say that the food was delicious! It was perfect temperature, and cooked to perfection. I have a family of 5 so, you expect to put out a decent amount of money for the food. My problem was with the Restaurant...charging for a cup of water! We choose to dine outside as we had a larger party. This is not a problem as we have chosen outside often of late due to COVID. Being charged $2.00 for water from a faucet for every cup is not okay. They call it Spring Water but, it comes in a plastic cup not a water bottle. Thankful I had a water bottle with me.More
