The service was slow with really lame food. I am not sure what happened to this restaurant but stay away. There are so many more options in Chester county that this one is permanently off the list.

Whatever the occasion go elsewhere. This place survives on a reputation that has long since faded. You'll get far better food at any Pub, and faster service at an undertakers. We went there for "Thanksgiving", a day when the Inn should have been at its very best. It was dreadful, from tardy reception to mass produced reheated tedious food that... More

Arrived for a 7:30 dinner reservation. We were greeted immediately and shown to our table. We sat for about 15 minutes before a waiter took our drink order. I also asked for a wine list. That took about 10 more minutes. I ordered a bottle of Malbec and about 30 minutes later was told they were "out" and offered a... More

As always, restaurant was lovely. However service was slow, hour and 45 minutes to get entree. Server said the kitchen was backed up. Also, did not have either of 2 wines we requested even though were on the wine list.

The DI is an old standby for celebrations etc. But it is a little worse every time I visit. Last time they were understaffed and took forever to get drinks and orders in. Food was not prepared up to the high price point. My steak was ordered MR and served MW. Server asked how it was, I gently said it... More

This restaurant is quintessential historic Brandywine Valley. Very historic, the rooms are small and intimate. The wait staff was excellent, very attentive to all of your needs without being overbearing. The food was excellent. Highly recommend the escargot appetizer. I have never had so many at one serving, packed in a cream sauce that was divine. My husband always orders... More

Had dinner here this week with my bride. Atmosphere is charming! Our server, Stephen, was competent and pleasant. I had the Brisket. It was excellent. Be prepared to take some home with you - portion was huge. It came with tasty vegetables in a delicious sauce/gravy. My companion raved about the lobster bisque. For $43 she got a petite filet... We were celebrating a birthday -- and had a lovely time. We ordered the short ribs, halibut and scallops. The service was good, the wine was delicious, and we were very pleased. We'll be back. oh and the creme brulee is made in-house and it was delicious.

We occasionally enjoy going the the Dilworthtown Inn. It is one of the top restaurants in our area. The food is very well prepared and the service is excellent. It is an great restaurant for a special celebration, birthday, holiday, etc.
