Today was my first visit to The Stone Tavern. But it definitely won’t be my last. It’s a historic building with marvelous and authentic updates in the past decade. Enter and you’ll feel immediately at home, as if you were in a local pub in Ireland. I sat at the expansive wraparound bar for lunch. The list of libations was equally expansive. I chose a Harp. Tending bar today was Manager, Ron Leary. He’s a pro and pleasant conversationalist. He recommended I try the Southwestern Chicken sandwich and I loved it. A large, juicy white cutlet done to perfection, topped with a red onion relish and smoked apple bacon. Accompanied by delicious french fries, it was outstanding. For my next visit, I plan to try their shepherd’s pie, made with lamb, the way it’s meant to be.

We started with the wings in ‘bee sting’ sauce and they were as good as any we’ve had anywhere. Perfectly cooked and saucy. The brisket entree was outstanding and also perfectly prepared. My wife said the mashed potatoes on the side were very tasty. The hot roast beef sandwiches were mouth-watering, lean and thinly-shaved, with melted provolone on top. And finally, the skinny fries were better than any restaurant fries that I can remember. Great meal. Great service. Great value. And nobody in the place was having a bad time.

My mother ordered to pick up our St. Patrick's dinners from this establishment. The three of us had the Corned Beef, colcannon mashed potatoes, honey roasted carrots, and guinness whole grain mustard. It was my first time trying this establishment as my parents have eaten here for years. As a culinarian and foodie I was impressed by the dish. I certainly will be a customer as my parents have been for years when it was The Blarney Stone. I highly recommend the Stone Tavern, they have a spectacular menu and drinks.

Just left the Tavern and was extremely disappointed! Waitress had an attitude. It took about 15 mins for drinks to come out. Our drinks were half empty and still no food. When Tomato Basil soup came it was luke warm, and tasted more like vinegar than tomato. Another 15 mins went by and the meals came out. The corned beef sandwich was on stale bread, and the corned beef dinner was cold. The broccoli looked several days old , mashed potatoes cold and the corned beef was not correctly sliced so it was cold and looked like chunks. The waitress made the usual excuses of being busy and had the manager come to our table. Trust me he didnt rush. He was not at all apologetic and actually a bit rude to the point that we cancelled the order. The waitress had one more excuse-new ownership. Such a shame! We have been dining there at least 20 yrs and probably will not go back.

Service and food OK, nothing to brag about. The noise..we’ll definitely need some serious acoustics to help them. Our waiter was very pleasant and accommodating her tip reflected the hard work.

A nice meal at the tavern, the service was a little slow. They did have signs saying they were understaffed. The food was all good, we had the reuben, ribeye sandwich, shepherd pie, and fish and chips. The fish was very good.

This is my third time at this restaurant and I am not a local. The food is fresh and hot and the service excellent. The ambience is what brings me in. Surely a go to place

Indoor and outdoor seating. Menu is average. I like the older ambiance. The biggest problem is they have no staff. Cooks or waitpersons. It’s limiting. Otherwise I would eat there more often.

We went there based on reviews. Maybe they have slipped a bit ... possibly due to the continuing pandemic? In any case, we ordered fish and chips ... the fish was good but the "chips" were HORRIBLE. We expected, from our many years of going to Irish and English pubs, to get full-bodied fried potatoes. Instead we got what looked like fried spaghetti, cut into 1 to 2 inch lengths. Worst of all, more than half were either fried too much (and hard to chew) or almost not at all. It seemed as if we were chewing on round, overdone shoelace pieces. They were so thin that using a fork was close to impossible ... the pieces tended to slip through the fork tines. It is hard to believe they were cooked together ... I don't think so. It seemed like a lot may have been (just a guess) left over from the previous evening, then mixed with a fresher batch. This was certainly not worth anything the $17 price per order. On the bright side, the draft beer was done very well. So we say "Yay" to the bartender and "Nay" to the kitchen. The young lady who served us was VERY nice and efficient ... thank goodness. We will NEVER go there again ... this was our first and last visit.

I went to the Stone Tavern with my wife, our son and a friend from work and his girlfriend. I had never been to the bar/restaurant when it was previously called the Blarney Stone. The location is perfectly situated on West Chester Pike and has plenty of parking. The decor is just what you would expect of an Irish pub. There is not a lot of room if you're party needs to wait and they only take reservations for parties of 6 or greater. I had called to make a reservation but was told it would not be necessary for a Saturday night at 6:30. We waited about 20 minutes and were seated at a 4 person booth with a chair added at the end of the booth. To some it would be an inconvenience but we were not bothered by the close quarters. Our server was very pleasant (I wish I could recall her name). She was very friendly and attentive. She took her time to explain items and specials to us since it was our first time to the Stone Tavern. She paid very close attention to our son when he informed her of his severe food allergies. We had the onion rings as an appetizer along with the tower burger, meatloaf, regular burger and a salad with salmon for our dinners. The food was very good, decent portions and reasonably priced. The rest of the menu has plenty of selections and they have a large bar with full service. Can't go wrong at the Stone Tavern!

We had a group of 6 for a late lunch. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The food was very good for the most part. I had the fish and chips and the fish could have been cooked a tad longer to get the coating really crisp. The fries tasted great but were a tad chewy. My wife loved her chicken biscuit pie, and the others in the group really enjoyed their salmon, salad, burger and Reuben. Overall the lunch was great success, just crisp up that fish and chips!.
