I went to the Stone Tavern with my wife, our son and a friend from work and his girlfriend. I had never been to the bar/restaurant when it was previously called the Blarney Stone. The location is perfectly situated on West Chester Pike and has...plenty of parking. The decor is just what you would expect of an Irish pub. There is not a lot of room if you're party needs to wait and they only take reservations for parties of 6 or greater. I had called to make a reservation but was told it would not be necessary for a Saturday night at 6:30. We waited about 20 minutes and were seated at a 4 person booth with a chair added at the end of the booth. To some it would be an inconvenience but we were not bothered by the close quarters. Our server was very pleasant (I wish I could recall her name). She was very friendly and attentive. She took her time to explain items and specials to us since it was our first time to the Stone Tavern. She paid very close attention to our son when he informed her of his severe food allergies. We had the onion rings as an appetizer along with the tower burger, meatloaf, regular burger and a salad with salmon for our dinners. The food was very good, decent portions and reasonably priced. The rest of the menu has plenty of selections and they have a large bar with full service. Can't go wrong at the Stone Tavern!More

We had a group of 6 for a late lunch. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The food was very good for the most part. I had the fish and chips and the fish could have been cooked a tad longer to get the coating...really crisp. The fries tasted great but were a tad chewy. My wife loved her chicken biscuit pie, and the others in the group really enjoyed their salmon, salad, burger and Reuben. Overall the lunch was great success, just crisp up that fish and chips!.More

This is the go to spot for my husband and I. Always great food and great service! My favorite is the French Onion Burger or the wings.

We were regulars at the Blarney Stone and will be here too. Stopped in on a hot Saturday night - it was surprisingly uncrowded and we were able to be seated on the deck, which was great. I really enjoyed the chicken caesar salad (it...has capers and olives, unusual but tasty additions) and the popover. Great sandwiches and fries too.More

I visited the Stone Tavern while on a business trip. It was hoping! Lots of patrons in the bar and everyone seemed to know eachother. I was alone so when the bar filled up the tender asked if I could move to the end of...the bar for more patrons to get to the tender. He gave me a free drink for my troubles and was wonderful to talk with. He also gave me a free appetizer card for the next time. I'll be going back tonight for the wings :) I had the Philly since it was highly reccomended and it did not disappoint. Will go back!More

Excellent roast beef sandwich. Good size portions. Service was pleasant and efficient. The atmosphere was okay, but I didn't like the TV noise

Came here to meet a long time friend for lunch. The atmosphere was perfect. Not too fancy but not just a pub environment either. Great Irish menu, spirits and beer. The music playing (not live) couldn't have been better! It was classic 70s music-- I...was reminded how many great artists there had been from that era. Anyway, back to the food, everything was great! I had the Guinness Irish stew - yum. My friend had french onion soup which looked spectacular and Philly cheese steak. What a great lunch and chat we had catching up!More

My husband and I always enjoyed our few visits pre-renovation. We were excited to check out the changes but were disappointed. There was always a lively crowd when we were there before, but it was pretty quiet when we were there this time. It seems...like they are trying to appeal to a more upscale clientele. The portions were small and prices were high - our tab for three appetizers and 4 beers, including tip, was $64. A bit pricey, plus they no longer serve crab cake sandwiches. : ( Unfortunately, in no hurry, to return any time soon.More

I must say, great decor, but the food is another story. I ordered The Fish & Chips, 70% batter, 30% cod. The batter is to thick, untraditional of Classic Irish Fish & Chips. Why would anyone serve fish this way? If you want to call...yourself a Irish Pub, make the food worth while. The quality of the food will set you apart from the competition, you just have to learn how to cook it. The last name is O’Neill and I hope you take into account what I am offering you.More
