About
A good Irish pub is traditionally the cornerstone of the town. It is a place that can be a destination for multiple purposes, or no reason at all. The publican (owner) should be known to all on a handshake basis. Being involved in the community outside of the pub is a big part of this. From family lunches on the weekends to watch soccer on the big screen, to some questionable dance moves after the sun goes down, a good Irish pub has something for everyone. We have been under new ownership since July 2015 and new Executive Chef Stephanie Gray has created a great seasonal menu while keeping the traditional favorites.

After parking in a public deck down the block, we caught a sidewalk table adjacent to the door for al fresco dining, drinking and schmoozing. I forget what my wife ordered, but I had an excellent lamb burger and a draught Harp lager. Split a...huge hunk of cheesecake to kill my diet! Kildare's was near the top of best West Chester dining spots when I searched dining in W.C. Recommended; great and friendly service by Sophia.More

My wife, son and I dined here for lunch last week and really enjoyed it. My wife ordered a salad, I had the chicken tenders in buffalo sauce and my son ordered the cheeseburger. All the meals were excellent and the beers were cold. Just...like an Irish pub should have it...More

We stopped here for lunch on our way through town and had an excellent meal in what is certainly an authentic Irish Pub. Great food, great service, great atmosphere and the traditional Irish breakfast was excellent and definitely traditional. Sat at a perfect little table...in front of a fireplace, couldn't have asked for a better lunch in a better place - thank you!More

September 2020 Traditional Irish pub interior with an excellent draft and whiskey menu. The bangers and mash were absolutely delightful!  Everything had the most profound flavor and the sausage was perfect, and the gravy was out of this world. The cheesesteak was also delicious, and...the roll was perfect. The habanero wings were rather ordinary, though, nothing special.  But overall, I can’t believe how well everything was seasoned, and I will definitely be coming back.  Decent prices and service, too.More

We have been many times to Kildare's. We especially love going there for the Dueling Pianos night. We just hosted a St. Paddy's Day themed 50th birthday party here and it was perfect! Great food, service, band...great back room too. Stephanie and Dane were great...to work with - definitely recommend!More

The place has a very nice atmosphere and a good presentation of the place. I would not recommend or come back to this place unless it was for drinks. We ordered hummus and it didn’t have any flavor, the worst hummus, and when I got...my burger there was hair on the plate. There was no point in complaining since it’s an average place, not worth complaining about it, is better not going back.More

What a pleasant surprise. Went with the family for brunch and everyone enjoyed their orders - from burgers to authentic Irish breakfast. Server was outstanding, explaining the menu and coming back numerous times to check on us and ask if we wanted refills. Bar was...clean and well lit. Excited to go back to sample the huge whiskey selection.More

Overlooked spot for brunch on a sunday. First time I have been able to find a traditional irish breakfast that reminds me of being back in Ireland. Server Mallory was great.

Arrived right when they opened at 11:30am. Greeted right away by one of the servers. Sat at the bar- bartender was very friendly. Beer was cold and food was good. If we lived closer, would love to go back for dinner.

Our visiting Cayman Islands GAA team decided to watch the, 'All Ireland GAA Final' at Kildare's. We were not disappointed. The crowds were lively and engaging and the staff were up to the challenge of a full house. We were all able to find a...spot together and enjoy a hearty lunch before our final. It was a great experience for all of us and a perfect way to start our finals day.More

Seems like its always been here. It even smells like its old school feel. Everyone talks to everyone. Just like a pub. John Byrne band was a fun time.

We're from out of town, it was dinner time and were looking for anyplace, choosing Kildare's at random. My wife had the Shepard's pie and I had a pork sandwich. Both were good if not memorable. The atmosphere was fun and relaxing. Sara who waited...on us did a fine job, making us feel welcome. If I lived in West Chester I'd go back.More

There are no many tables that have a direct view, but the bar area is where all of the action is.
