Great pub with an extensive outdoor seating area. We had great service and really good food. This is not haute cuisine but it is very well prepared and served.

Joined a group of friends for an early dinner. We were seated out on the patio, once the sun starts to set, most any seat is okay. They have removed the table umbrellas so the sun was a challenge when we first arrived. The online...menu is not current, the crab cake sandwich is on the online menu, but unavailable. The chicken BLT is delicious. Mushroom soup is reportedly delicious, noted that it is a creamy soup, no visible mushrooms. The pulled pork is also very tasty. Crisp french fries! Well behaved dogs are welcome. Our server was helpful, not intrusive. We'll do this one again.More

The food - very similar to the Marshalton Inn next door - service and atmosphere is terrific. Great for outdoor or indoor dining.

Went for dinner on a Tuesday night. Seated right away which was very helpful as we were with my 98 year old father. Patio wasn’t busy when we arrived, but was full with a wait by 7 pm. Our server Pm P ( wish we...had asked his name) made the whole dining experience wonderful. He joked with my father, explained the menu options and paced the meal perfectly. The food was delicious as always but P took the service to 5 stars. My husband and I think he’s the best server we have had in the last 5/6 years! Kudos to this young man - and Go Avalanche!More

I called literally 10 minutes from 4 Dogs asked if a party of 2 needed a reservation and I was told "no". When we arrived we got greeted by hostess station with huff and puffs!! When finally seated our server was very quick to come...ask our drink order. We ordered Shrimp Lejon, French Onion Soup, Chicken BLT Flatbread, and Filet with Asparagus and Au Gratin Potatoes. Shrimp was very good, soup was NOT on point at all for $11.75 a crock. Bread was mush, flavor too sweet, and cheese looked like it came from pre-bagged cheap shredded cheese with zero flavor and not melted very much which is how you could see the shreds. The filet was seasoned and cooked nicely, the au gratin potatoes were very good but way to much (covered whole plate). What ruined the meal was that it tasted like canned gravy poured around entree and on 1/2 filet. I had asked for some horseradish for steak and it took 10 minutes when I saw him coming from the next door restaurant. A bit frustrating but the server was doing a great job - probably only highlight. Not sure when I will return.More

I have been to this restaurant many many times over the years. Today, after meeting a friend at the Stroudsburg preserve to walk our dogs, I suggested we see if 4 Dogs has an outdoor spot Where we could sit for a late lunch. We...were lucky enough to get a table far removed from anyone, as my friend’s dog can be reactive. After spending over $80 on sandwiches, drinks, tips; and a large part of the afternoon chatting with people who were passing by our table who wanted to talk about the dogs (our table sat by itself between the parking lot and the restaurant). The outdoor bartender approached from one side “ to clean up “ . As we were responding to him that we were about to leave, and the 2 bottles were the only thing that needed to be taken away, he mentions my friend’s dog behavior. At that point , the owner/ manager approached from the other side aggressively telling us we had to leave “now”. The bartender scurried away at that point. Never having been asked to leave anywhere before, I was a little stunned, but we were already in the midst of putting our leftovers in the bag, so we both said something like “ ok, we are leaving”. Neither of us arguing on any level. The owner manager could not control himself and escalated his own anger, ranting the entire time we were packing. He stopped for a moment and started to step away ( I thought to myself, finally he is leaving). and then he spun back and started ranting again. Most of it was directed at my friend... I believe his last words were if she ever brings her dog back, he would “sue your ass”. My friend’s dog can be reactive to certain situations/ people who were walking by. Not all people, by any means. As I mentioned, Quite a few patrons approached our table to talk about her ( the dog) . At anytime throughout the afternoon, if anyone from management to the bartender had asked us to leave, if they thought our dog was scaring anyone, we would have complied. We had pleasant interactions with the bartender prior to this event. So, why did the owner have to attack, rant, and then threaten...all within probably less than 5 minutes at the end of our stay? Very disappointing. I will never return. The area is lovely, the food is just ok, but I will miss the venue because of the location.More

We have been fans of this restaurant since the 1980"s when it was called The Oyster Bar. It was a favorite Friday Night hang-out. So it is nice to meet up with our family for lunch. The new owners did not change the decor much...from the original Oyster Bar, except that they have added an extensive outside patio. The food here is always at a very high standard and as such might seem a little pricey. Mostly American cuisine. Good assortment of burgers. We particularly like the Salmon Gruyere Burger. The Fish and Chips are also very good, but a little "over-the-top" price wise. They also do very nice saladsMore

like to sit in the bar area - the crock of onion soup and one of the flatbread plates is the best - a brew and you have a happy person - use to always like the oysters - don't have them anymore - but,...still like to come here in the winter - esp if the fire place is going - it's usually full of interesting people - wait staff is friendly and does a good jobMore
