Love the charm of this old hotel and bar. Had a great supper in this old world feel. Next time we visit I would love to spend the night.

The price keeps going up and the food selections keep getting smaller. Used to love the eggs benedict but now they microwave the english muffin and you need a steak knife to cut it. Unforturnately you don't have a steak knife. Juice and coffee are now served to you so a healthy tip can be added to the $15.95. Must... More

This old building is beautiful in its own right, yet there is so much untapped potential sitting right there, someone (owners) should really hire an architect and interior designer to bring this gem of a building into its own. The food was excellent the evening I was there. I had the Penne Carbonara, not done the traditional way, but done... More

We had read about this hotel while researching our road trip down Highway 6 and it was recommended as a good place to eat. We made the short drive from our hotel in Mansfield for dinner. We were delighted by the charming historical atmosphere, excellent service by Shawn and the fabulous food. To start, we shared a humongous Caesar Salad,... More

Well, I was apprehensive at first because it's an upscale hotel but my fellow Mahjongg group of girls said the bar food was excellent and not pricey either. So off we went and much to my surprise and pleasure, it was one of the best burgers in town by far. Cooked to perfection for me (MR) and hard to find... More

First of all we had been to the Penn Wells back in 2004 thru 2010 when we came to Wellsboro once a year. We always enjoyed their Prime rib dinner on a Thursday nite. We were back last year for the first time and read the reviews and decided not to waste the money. This year however the reviews were... More

Very nice, historic setting. Food was above average. Veal Saltimbocca was ok with too much prosciutto. Haddock and crab cakes were better received! The ambiance and service made it worthwhile and I'd give it another visit.

Since the Mary Wells dining room wasn't open we had lunch in the lounge/bar area. It was quiet and cozy and service was good. My sandwich was good & the French fries were hot. Enjoyed my lunch.

There are very few restaurants that I will give the lowest score to, however, our Sunday Brunch experience at the Mary Wells Dining Room of the Historic Penn Wells Hotel warranted such a score. First let me say that my family "used to" come to this restaurant in years past for Sunday Brunch and had fond memories of doing so.... More
