Food was horrible not much homemade anymore Don’t fall for the “amish” cooking claims. They are not true Food is not like it used to be whatsoever. I so wish I had a picture of my dinner. It was disastrous.

One of our favorite places to eat. Big portions, nice variety and the desserts are very good. If we can't eat dessert there we get it to go.
Sugar N Spice is located in the Historic Eagle Hotel. The comfort food is amazing!! The Roast Beef is my personal favorite!!! Don't skip the Amish noodles!!! You cannot beat their meal prices and with the portion size, you will have lunch the next day!!!
such a beautiful place. decorated very nicely with quilts every where even on the ceilings. the food was delicious and plentiful. very good choice of desserts. and everything was very affordable
Great place for a fabulous meal or dessert large group or couple best home style cooking in northwest pa
We done here 3-4 times a year. This is a charming restaurant on the main Street of Waterford,. PA. The building is very old and majestic and is pretty much original inside and out. The food is wonderful, comfort food at it's best. The portions...are huge and served piping hot. It's all home cooked. There isn't another restaurant in the area that compared to SUGAR AND SPICE. LISA was our hostess(very personable)& her picture is in this review. Don't miss trying this place out!!More
We were traveling in area and rather then eating in one of the chain restaurants off the Interstate we drove into Waterford and chose to eat here. I had the Swiss steak special which was excellent but my wife was less than satisfied with her’s...which had two dishes which were supposed to be Amish style. Growing up in an Amish area she has ate lots of their dishes but wasn’t impressed with these. I was totally satisfied with mine. Would definitely recommend if in the area.More
Met family here for Sunday dinner. Most delicious roast beef I’ve had. It was incredibly tender! Coleslaw was very finely shredded and tasty. Try the Amish noodles. Very plain but delicious. Make sure you save room for the homemade pie. I may start with dessert...next time.More
A beautiful early American Restaurant in an old hotel. Hearty portions of comfort food served steaming hot by a very friendly professional staff. Fruit pies to die for! The only negative was the rolls They were cold and damp. Not very appetizing.
We made reservations for Mother's day. Arrived and line was out the door, waited quite awhile to get to hostess desk to say we had reservations. Were seated and given a " limited" menu. We had looked online and knew what we wanted to order....None of it was available. Very small selection with no soup, 1 vegtable and inflated prices. Very slow service and bland dinners. We will no be back. Feel ripped off.More
We had several tables all set up by a Christmas tree where we could place our exchange gifts. We also were supplied a table where we were able to do a cookie/candy share. There were four dinner options to choose from, I had the pork...roast dinner with stuffing that was very good. So much food I had to take some home!More
I eat there every time I drive through and nobody I’ve taken there have ever had a complaint and keep saying how great everything thing is ..... I ordered 6 pies for thanksgiving and they were awesome , a big hit and I’ll do it...ever year now . Thanks , MikeMore
My wife and I have passed by the Eagle Hotel, a beautiful Stone building in Waterford Pa. many times on our way home from trips to Erie, Presque Isle. We always assumed it was closed. So, this time we decided to take the short drive...from Erie and try it out. Conclusion, we have found another favorite place in Erie County's oldest hotel. We were there on a Sunday. There is parking around the back and also on street parking. The handicap entrance is along the side street side of the establishment. A ring of that entrances doorbell calls the perky and very friendly hostess to the door. We were led from the door, through several dining rooms past a waiting room and to our dining room. All were decorated with antique and craft items. We were served rolls and a nice salad with choice of dressing. I ordered Pork Loin, with Aumish Stuffing, Green Beans and Sweet Potato Casserole. My wife ordered Stuffed Chicken Breast, also with Stuffing and Green Beans. The servings were more than adequate and the food was very good. We will definitely return. They also have a breakfast menu, and a gift shop upstairs.More
I live in Waterford. As much as I love visiting new places and trying new restaurants, I have never found one that can compete with Sugar n Spice. My #1 choice. The atmosphere is nice, service is good, food is excellent, prices are reasonable, and...portions are plentiful! I always have leftovers. I NEVER have any complaints.More
Very good amish-style country homemade everything. Priced quite reasonably. Portions are quite large. You won't leave hungry, think of it as two meals for the price of one. Don't think there is any poor choice on the menu, and don't forget to leave room for...dessert; in fact, have dessert first, you'll be taking part of your meal home with you anyway.More
