Been here twice now and like the food. Beer isn't as impressive as I would like, but maybe I just need to try more...

Barley Creek looks nice from the outside and is located in a great spot but the food is not that great. I also found the service to be on the slow side as we waited a long time for our food and my wife's was room temp by the time it got to us. Better places nearby IMHO.

Thanks VacationNeedy for your review. I apologize that's not the experience we try to prove. Two things I'll look into: 1) were we understaffed? 2) does your server not know how to determine if things are going the way they should? Everyday, for the last 20 years we try and improve and it's reviews like yours that can sometimes speed... More

Great Beer...average bar food. Be careful...the mild boneless chicken bites are garlic bites and had to send them back. Very loud and noisy !!

Hi samtar113, Thanks for the review. Glad you liked the beer. Handcrafted right here with our own 700 foot Artesian well. In terms of chicken bites not sure why they had so much garlic flavor, I will look and see if we need to change how these are prepared. More

Love this place for their micro brewery beer. Food is average. Wait can be very long on weekends, and bartenders tends to get overwhelmed. They do not serve just plain shots, restaurant policy. Have to wonder why. It's a good place to have an unpretentious meal and a good beer.

Thanks mosinoi for the review. I'm glad you like our beer. We do indeed get busy especially on weekend, especially when the Camelback has good skiing. Next time you are in try one of the smoker specials. I think our menu covers a lot of what our guests are looking for. Sounds like you've sat down at the bar? We... More

Hi Haverick1977, I've been working on Barley Creek for just a little bit longer than 20 years. To get you to come in for a birthday dinner and have a great time is why we do this. Cheers and happy belated birthday. Trip. More

Looked so good passing by that we decided to trek out and give the place a try. It was mobbed Martin Luther weekend. We waited over an hour, 13 of us. Finally got seated at 2 separate tables then to be told that they were out of key sides such as mashed potatoes and onion rings! Couldn't believe it and... More

Hi kjp5, Thanks for taking the time to post your review. There are times when I wish the building was bigger. Martin Luther King' weekend is indeed big. Presidents weekend/week is even more fun. When you come back give us another try. 5 is better than 6 and 6 is better than 7. After 7 you won't have to wait... More

Hi Amila 1401, Thanks for the review. I agree with your first thought. Just need to try more. We have new ones coming up Seasonally almost every month. The tripeneye re lager came up yesterday and it is good. Our distillery should be open very soon as well. Thanks again for the review. Cheers, Trip. More

We went to Barley Creek on a weekday evening between Christmas and New Years. Probably not the best time of year to visit as it was very crowded. While the food was okay, the noise level made for a not so pleasant evening. The servers tried very hard to take care of everyone but the kitchen gets inundated when it... More

Hi Judy R, Thanks for the review. It really is busy at that time of.year. 5pm is better than 6 and 6 is better than 7. Sometimes I wish the building and kitchen was bigger. Other times I'm glad it's not. We are opening up our to go food truck soon and that should take some of the pressure off.... More

I have only been here once. But the beer selection was very wide, and the quality was very good. The food was excellent, and with a good variety. The service was fantastic. And the setting was cozy. Needless to say, when you have everything going for you, you tend to get crowded. So if you go during prime time be... More

We have been to Barley Creek Brewing Company for 4 years in a row. We look forward to visiting every year while in the Poconos. The beer is first rate and our family loves the food, especially the wicked chip dip. The only bad thing is that on a ski weekend you will wait for a table if you try... More
