Ate at Champs recently during a weekend visit to State College. Pretty standard bar food and good variety of beers on tap. Plenty of TV's to watch. I was surprised that there was little to indicate to a visitor that they were visiting a sports bar at Penn State (perhaps corporate does not allow them to do that). Unless you... More

We tried the new downtown State College location for lunch. The restaurant wasn't busy and we were seated quickly. Service was slow. We eventually ordered two salads - Caesar and grilled chicken. The chicken was over cooked - tough and chewy. Salads were not very good and for $28.50 (the salads and only water) we were disappointed. The salads took... More

Have been here before and was always pleased. This time the service was very slow. My toasted bun was slightly burnt and my friends burger was dry and over cooked? Return visit questionable?

We ate dinner here on a stop over to Woodward Camp. I had the grilled eggplant Sandwich. It was pretty good. My husband had the meatball hoagie. He described it as typical. Tried two beers on tap. Overall, it was just average.

The service is really pitiful. They are either shy or just don't understand this business. No interaction with the customers at all. They act like you are bothering them for a drink. The food was OK. Nothing spectacular here. Pass by there are many establishments in this town that enjoy having you as there guest.

My hubby & I come here for our first meal in State College every time we come up. The beer selections are great and they have flights so you can try a bunch of different beers! Food is good, never had a bad meal. Wings, salads, nachos are my favorite.

Took fellow business travelers to Champs recently. Recommended the nachos and Bruchetta as apps. They were very pleasantly impressed with the quality and servings. Service was very attentive as there was a new waiter being trained. I knew this was a good choice as no one could finish the meal.

Took my mother-in-law to State College, PA to take the bus to go back to Chicago and arrived to the bus stop early, so decided to go eat something before she left. Saw this place and decided to give a chance. Looking at the menu (great selection), saw that they have a Delmonico steak. It is a bar aND grill,... More

I've only ever been here before to watch sporting events in the main area, so was very pleased to see multiple outdoor seating areas, private rooms, and a main dining room. I attended a Paint Nite event, and had fantastic service for drinks throughout. The bar noise didn't bother us at all and our server kept our drinks filled all... More

Solid service, tasty food of pizza with world-class dough and buffalo shrimp with real fresh shrimp and tangy sauce.
