Employees are terrific… so friendly! We enjoy the quiet atmosphere and find it relaxing to eat inside. Glad there are no tv sets or music playing.

After attending Penn State's Blue-White game, rather than waiting in a long line for ice cream at the Creamery, I thought I'd get some ice cream at Meyer's Dairy. It's been many years since I've been there. I ordered rum raisin and it was quite...good, and all of a sudden I felt something hard in my mouth. I thought oh no, not a piece of a dental filling breaking off. Worse. I discovered a piece of glass in my ice cream. There was a line at this point at the counter and I figured why bother telling the young kid behind the counter. Nothing would undue what I discovered in my ice cream. I'm just glad I didn't swallow it.More
The ice cream is great and the shakes are yummy too. I wish they delivered to the dorms! I often call and they have hand packed pints hardened and ready for me in advance to pick up on my travels into and out of SC....Two days ago I grabbed a "Birthday Cake" pint from the freezer and one of my kids ate it in one sitting and said it was awesome! I like the Coconut chip myself.More
Many people were saying their ice creme was better than Penn State's Berkey Creamery. No. Disappointed.
One serving of their vanilla ice cream proved to be a delicious lunch. We had the ice cream around 12:30 PM, and it was not until 8 PM when we had dinner again - and I was only starting to feel hungry. This was a...really nutritious lunch. Lots of good protein. I also found it interesting to see milk sold in glass, just like the old days.More
We like the ice cream here, and it is one of those local standards, but the place is in serious need of a good cleaning, the service is tolerable at best, and their ice cream has too many questionable ingredients. I was surprised to see...all the chemicals on the sticker when we picked up a quart, and many people have a sensitivity to carrageenan and polysorbate 80, which seemed to be in all of them. They make a lot of money off this place so they could put a little back into it, and it is in serious need of a renovation.More
We got it to-go which should be pretty common at this point a year into a pandemic but it seemed to confuse the staff a bit and they didn’t have like a bag to carry the orders in....sort of an odd experience that way. The...ice cream was good though. We also got the chocolate milk because we heard so much about it and didn’t find it to live up to the hype.More
Awesome ice cream! I mean the best I’ve ever had! Wanted a milkshake but they were out of milk so I had to settle for a few scoops of ice cream! It was fantastic! I’ll be returning for sure! Glad the lady at the hotel...referred us here!More
We were advised to stop here by a friend , and were not disappointed. The ice cream was amazing and the prices reasonable.
We went to Meyer's in the middle of July as the "Big Ice Cream Man On Campus" was closed due to Covid. We ended going to Meyer's since I hadn't been there in decades (literally 30 years). We got some shakes to go and some...lemonde in the old fashioned glass pitchers to go. Everything tasted great and at a fair price.More
I have to say this is the best ice cream that I have had in a long time. The variety of flavors, price, amount served are perfect. I am a diabetic and my sugar stayed within normal ranges after eating, this proves they use quality...ingredients in the making of there ice cream. My family and I will visit this place at least 2 more times before we leave Pennsylvania. I had tea berry with lemon custard, my wife had coconut and daughter had vanilla and brownie cookie dough and the flavor profile was amazing. The mouth feel of the cream was tremendous and left you satisfied when finished. None of that overly sweet and that nauseating feeling after eating a sinful dessert. As I said before I am a diabetic and I am not on meds to keep sugar down and certain sweets with raise my blood glucose and 1 hour after eating it was about 130 on my glucose meter which is what I would get after eating a meal.More
I stopped in here for some milk. But since I had the kids with me we decided to get ice cream too. They are very friendly and we were happy to sit inside on the cold day and enjoy our ice cream.
The peanut butter chocolate was delicious and the friends said the other flavors were just as good. Easy to get to, easy to park, and you can mix flavors. Unless some childhood memory is dragging you to the other ice cream place...skip it and go...to Meyers.More
Reviewers led my daughter and I to this great ice cream place which happened to be less than a mile from our hotel while we were visiting Penn St. for the Happy Volley Volleyball Tournament over Memorial Weekend. We had ice cream both times we...visited and we were not disappointed! Many flavors were offered, and their prices were right out of the past! There is another ice cream place in town that is talked about which we visited last year, but we thought that place was overpriced and we didn't understand why everyone was saying that it was the place to go. We disagree! Meyer Dairy's, old fashioned shop, was much better when it comes to quality and cost...no comparison!More
This is a breath of fresh air. It's one of the handful of local stores still there in State College. The dairy products are very good quality but I go there just to soak in a breath of fresh air. These stores are still clutching...on to the soul of America. Wish more were there.More
