Visited here while on a business trip to Penn State. Lovely atmosphere, if a bit reserved. We were one of only a very few groups there, but since it was midweek I wonder if their primary diners visit on weekends. Meal descriptions were intriguing, but I personally found their execution a bit bland. Service was impeccable, and we had ample... More

We ate at this restaurant last night for the first time. We have been desperately searching for a good restaurant at State College since our son is graduating from Penn State this year, and it would be nice to find a place to celebrate after his graduation. We are still looking. The restaurant was not crowded at all since it... More

Every year I have to eat at The Dining Room. The Lobster Bisque is amazing. I also had a great tasting crab cake.

We really enjoyed breakfast at The Dining Room on out last visit so we were looking forward to it this time. Unfortunately, it didn't meet our expectations. The the food was barely warm and was certainly not fresh. The eggs were rubbery and the bacon was chewy. Next time we'll skip the buffet and have it cooked to order.

This restaurant is a Penn State mainstay. Food quality is good as is the service. The atmosphere is a bit stodgy. Good selection on the menu.

The food we had for both breakfast and dinner was excellent and of quite good value. Service was prompt and professional

I expected that the dining room affiliated with the hotel would be decent. Had dinner two nights in a row here….first night (Friday) was seafood buffet ($34.95) and you could order off a limited Whiskers Pub menu (I had the portobello mushroom sandwich while others had the seafood buffet). I needed a microscope to find the mushroom - skipped the... More

A good spot for a quick breakfast in the AM. They have a nice menu selection, and the service is very good. I think they serve a full buffet as well

My 2 teenage children and I recently enjoyed a delicious meal at The Dining Room. We were staying at the hotel where this restaurant is located (the Nittany Lion Inn) after taking a prospective student tour, and after a day of walking around campus I was definitely looking forward to a good meal and a cold drink. After checking dining... More

The food and the atmosphere at The Dining Room are quite good, however don't plan for this meal to be quick. While you might expect an upscale experience here, the service leaves much to be desired. We were seated in a private room and had to ask servers to come to take our orders and later to clear our entree... More
