I had stayed at this hotel various times throughout my childhood and always remembered eating breakfast in the dining car. We were driving through Lancaster and happened to pass the hotel so we decided to stop by for lunch. I'm glad we did! We stopped for lunch. The place is clean, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere is... More

We had a 2pm reservation for the Strasburg Railroad and needed a place for a quick lunch. Found this small but cute little train car diner not far from the railroad and museum. Great sandwich and burger. Motel looked like it would be a unique place to stay.....maybe next time.

We had breakfast in the Red Caboose Motel & Restaurant 3 times while staying in the motel. It was a decent breakfast and cost us around $30 (plus tip) each time for a family of 4 (with two preschoolers.) The meals were big (we never finished everything on our plates.) They serve typical breakfast fare (eggs, pork, pancakes, home fries,... More

Unique and enjoyable. The service was great and the food superb. The grandchildren loved the view while eating; the Strasburg steam train came by two time while we were eating. Highly recommend.

The food was average. Be warned, the space is cramped; be prepared to step aside. But after all, it is a rail car. If the weather is nice you can dine on the deck and watch the trains go by and enjoy the beautiful scenery. It is very convenient to the Strasburg railroad for a quick bite before or after... More

My family and I stayed at the Red Caboose Motel and used the onsite restaurant a few times because of the convenient location. However, we were rather disappointed. The dinner was rather bland and the service, despite few people being in the restaurant at the time, was very slow. We had breakfast there as well. The first time we had... More

What a find! This place was a hit with the kids. The train cars as hotel rooms was a hoot. Our room was clean, well maintained and had a full bathroom. Some train cars offered more space, but ours was fine for what we were looking for. The restaurant (also in a train car) provided the perfect breakfast before heading... More

Why stay in a regular hotel when you can experience a unique authentic caboose. The caboose are all outfitted with modern amenities with private showers. Space is kinda small in some of the smaller cabooses but that is part of the appeal. The restaraunt on site is pretty good. A great place for a true train fanatic or someone that... More

Great little place for a bite to eat. Food was excellent and service was good. Sitting and eating in a train car was a good experience for the kids.
