Since April of 1997, Mimmo's has been serving Berks County Italian favorites. This restaurant is family owned and operated and offers a large variety of menu items. With dine-in, takeout, catering, and banquet services available, Mimmo's strives to accommodate every customer, every time. Whether you are in the mood for the classic Chicken Parmigiana or would like to just grab cocktails at the bar with friends, Mimmo's is the place for you! Homemade Italian goodness

While visiting recently, our group went to this for a treat. All of us being of Italian heritage, we were reluctant to try the Wedding Soup as we're generally disappointed. However, we found it good, though not as good as my wife makes. My wife had the eggplant parmesan and pronounced it very good. I had the Shrimp Scampi stuffed with crab meat, over homemade pasta. A bit overdone, but a good taste. The service was very good and appropriate Covid counter-measures appear to be taken.

Amazing lunch

We were driving by and looked up for a place to have lunch. In covid times it’s never easy. I liked this place right away because had a sign that masks were required. The food was delicious omg!!! We had the pepperoncini ( I believe it was the name) for appetizer and it was delicious. The garlic bread was tasty. My husband loved the pizza and I enjoyed my salmon and the freshness of the salad and veggies. Everything was really fresh you could tell. And our waitress was lovely. I definitely recommend this place. Oh btw: best tiramisu I ever tasted.

Hidden gem! Lush patio

Lovely spot! The garden-like patio is serene with a fountain and Sinatra-Esque music. Prices maybe a tad high for Berks County but worth it, all of our dishes were very tasty. Service was quick and friendly.

Never EVER again!!

I have been dining at Mimmo's regularly through the years. I went there with my boyfriend and were displeased with where we were seated. We were placed in a corner and told that they couldn't accommodate 2 in the sunny outside garden. That's wasn't a problem until we kept seeing more and more people being seated out there. Plenty of couples sitting in 4 tops as well as open tables. I was annoyed so I asked for our food to go. A young man came out and explained that they were probably reserved tables. That is fine. It should have ended there. Then this short balding man whom I had seen barking at all of the waitstaff came to the table with his voice raised and accused me of causing a scene. I asked him what I said. He told me that I had caused a scene by complaining to the waitstaff that my *add expletive* food was taking 20 minutes. I told him I said no such thing. He continued to speak to me in a loud and disrespectful way. I told him that he needed to clarify that because I said no such thing. I do not know who this man is, I suspect an owner. I have NEVER been spoken to in such a disrespectful way. No man should EVER show that sort of agression to ANY woman. I feel bad for his waitstaff that they have such a belligerent supervisor. He was the one making a scene. Good Lord that man needs some anger management and a vacation. Well, as much as I have enjoyed their business in the past you can damn well bet that I will NEVER be back! Reading has too many excellent Italian restaurants to have to deal with divas! I would give it a zero out of 5 if I could.

Just to make it clear for everyone reading, you kept yelling “this is bull****” to our staff about your seat. If that’s not causing a scene, we are not sure what is. The owner did in fact come out and in fact did yell because he always stands up for his staff and his business. So you’re allowed to talk down and aggressive to everyone, but as soon as someone gives it back, it’s a 0 star review from you? We hope one day you decide to give us another try, but if you don’t the least you can do is give people the whole story when posting negative reviews about a small business trying to survive the pandemic and a staffing crisis that all restaurants are facing.

Cold soup, cold entrees, slow food service this visit, which is not normal here

Had a pleasant Mother’s Day dinner at Mimmo’s but the service was slow, about 3 hours and over 2 hours to be served dinner with reservations. I love the wedding soup, but everyone in our group had cold soup which was disappointing. We had appetizers which were slow to be served but were fine. Unfortunately our entrees were even slower to be served and were cold as well. We gave up and left without dessert. This was a disappointing experience. It is not what we expect or the service and food quality we come to expect from Mimmo’s. A cautionary tale. Probably best to avoid Mimmo’s during busy periods for now. Hopefully they will figure it out.

Great place!

Ate dinner with 8 adults and 7 kids over 13. Making reservation was easy. We had a nice table outside and it was lovely. Service was good for such a large party and all the food was delicious. I would not say they were the most patient with the kids who walked around a lot. Would definitely go back.

Fine place, but I might avoid the ravioli.

Went with family members in August. Sat outside on a very temperate day as some members did not want to sit inside due to fears of COVID. I get that. Service was very good. It's a team effort. Everybody in my party of 9 seemed to enjoy their meals from start to finish. Save for me. I had the meat ravioli, and the pasta was on the tough side. Maybe I've had too much Chef Boyardee. None the less, I ate the whole thing because it tasted good. We also tried a few desserts which were quite good. Good beer and wine selection. Nice place inside, too. Will we do this place again? I'm sure we will.

Celebration of Life Success

I reserved their small dining room for a celebration of life. The service and food were excellent. More people attended than I had anticipated, and they quickly brought out more tables and chairs, and had enough food for everyone. Very professional; I would recommend them any time.

Excellent catering experience

We used Mimmo's for catering for a large event. The food was excellent and the communication leading up to the event was easy and smooth (thanks, Mike!). All of our guests commented how much they enjoyed the food. We would definitely use Mimmo's for catering again in the future.

Thankful for Lucy and her amazing staff

We had my dad’s celebration of life luncheon recently at Mimmo’s. Lucy and her staff handled every detail to perfection and professionalism. The food was excellent and the service was stellar. Wonderful people and place ❤️

Consistently great food!

I can't thank Mimmo's enough for having curbside pickup during the pandemic! We've loved all of the following dinners: Toscano Seafood Di Mare Crab Cakes Shrimp Scampi Stuffed w/Crab Meat Scallop Medallions Pasta w/Mussels Parmigiana We've NEVER had a bad meal.

I have written several review of the horrible food and service in reading most recently a haddock fillet (beer wall on penn) I think there was fish in the breading but perhaps the thimble of Cole slaw made up for it at there outrageous price Anyway decided to revisit nimmo got the bruschetta again crazy good the tables around me raving how good there meals were hanna no h at the end sorry hanna was delightful as my server interesting when so.e guest left a young man essentially sterilized not only the table but the chairs

This classic Italian restaurant in reading pa. Deserves any and all accolades it receives. The food, the portions, the service. In reading it's just numero uno not only for Italian but any ethic food. Please go & enjoy! You will not be disappointed.

Great food and atmosphere

What a pleasant surprise. Great, tasty affordable food, in a relaxing atmosphere. Emily is nothing less than a spectacular waitress. Attentive, yet, she gave us space, with a great sense of humor. If you want a casual dining experience, with out bumping into the table next to you, Mommy's is the place.
