Going to the ugly oyster reminds me of our first meal in Ireland without the overnight flight. The beautiful wooden bar was imported from Ireland and the Guinness is as close as you can get to the Temple bar area . The fish and chips come in 2 varieties ,old school or new school. And the oysters are as fresh... More

The Oyster is a beautiful pub in downtown Reading. The food is very good. I enjoy the old woodwork and the bar was made in England.

This place is great but I will warn you, it gets busy. If you can't get a table do yourself a solid and wait. Food is great and priced right. Staff was friendly even when swamped. Definitely coming back when we are in town.

Pub like atmosphere in downtown Reading. They serve some really good inexpensive seafood and their crabby soft pretzels are to die for!

We go here for oysters, the seafood combo bucket and good beer! They will even steam the oysters. We enjoy celebrating birthdays and anniversaries here. The owner even checks on our meals once in awhile. Can't say enough good things about this place.

The food is exceptional. This is a very small establishment. We were very lucky to get a reservation. Every table was sold out for the entire night, which should tell you something. Highly recommend.

Typical selection of pub food, but well prepared to order (burgers, fries, etc.). Several wait staff kept a close watch on our needs (water, other drinks, food). Music was not overwhelming, but made the visit pleasant.

My husband and I called for a reservation for our anniversary. The girl that answered the phone was extremely short and rude. I asked to make a reservation for today she sighs disgusted and says "well how many" I say a table for 2 please. She replies with another exaggerated sigh and a sharp "well what time" I say 5... Wouldn't make the effort again..loud, crowded, and food nothing to write home about. Maybe a place for younger crowd...not an overly crowded night but definetly not a great experience..I had a headache when I left!

This is our go to restaurant when we go to concerts/events in town. Great food and service. Good array of beers and drinks. Neighborhood pub atmosphere.
