Tuesday, May 28, 2019: We went to lunch at Judy’s on Cherry, where we met Judy. Lew started with glasses of Pinot grigio (10) while I had iced tea (2.99). Lew enjoyed a cup of their butter nut squash soup (3.99) with crab and curry...and I enjoyed a cup of a wonderful gazpacho (4). Punctuated by a wonderful in-house bread and oil course, Lew shoes a Mushroom Pizza (13) with shiitake, oyster and button mushrooms and fontina cheese, caramelized onion, truffle oil and garlic, and I had an excellent Roast Beef Club Sandwich (11) of roast beef, bacon, lettuce, tomato, horseradish aioli on pumpernickel swirl rye toast. Senior Warning: It's upstairs, but there's good parking across the streetMore

We recently had a benefit dinner at Judy’s on Cherry and as usual, Judy delivered above and beyond. We had six of us at our table and there was not a single complaint, but only praise from the group about the entire dining experience. We...ALL ironically ordered the butternut squash soup with crab meat as an appetizer and the flavor profile was simply “yum”! It was “buttery” all right, creamy and filled with richness and flavor. All six of us raved about the soup. My husband had the braised short ribs and they were tender an delicious. They were served with mashed potatoes, carrots and green beans. All was prepared very well and savory. I had the Land and Sea salad with beef filet, scallops and shrimp. This salad is a favorite of mine, although the menu changed recently and the dish is now served with a sirloin steak, instead of a filet. I requested the filet and the chef prepared it well. The ending was the never disappointing Mrs. Wessner’s coconut cake and it complimented our delicious meals perfectly...creamy, coconut goodness. The atmosphere at Judy’s is always up beat and sophisticated. Service is always friendly and excellent! Thank you Richard Stoudt for hosting an excellent event — Good Thyme for Life! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening and Thank You Judy for all of the hard work and wonderful things that you did to make this night magical. Cheers!🍷More

We were in town overnight and wanted to check out a local restaurant. Glad we went with this recommendation. We don't live too far away but had never heard of Judy's. The drink and food were excellent. We didn't have a reservation but luckily got...there just before the dinner rush. We had the choice of sitting at the chef's corner where you can sir at a counter and watch them prepare meals or a hightop at the bar. We chose the latter. The bar isn't their main scene though, it's very small but the drinks we had were FABULOUS! I had the leap year margarita in celebration of National Margarita Day and my husband had a Sangria. I expected the usual super sour type of margarita but eas pleasantly surprised and it wasn't super sour at all. They make all the mixers from scratch and it definitely shows! I can honestly say it was the BEST margarita I have ever had! We then decided to try a cup of their soup. My husband had the soup of the day tomato gorgonzola soup and i had their butternut squash with crab. Both were excellent! Our dinner was good as well. They both came with a salad we both chose the mixed greens. The salad was fresh and the vegetables tasty. I had the short rib and my husband had the salmon. I enjoyed the short rib it was tender, a good portion and tasty. It was served over broad noodles with a side of sweet carrots and tasty string beans. The salmon was poached in a white wine and was a hearty portion as well. It was served with a side of brown rice as well as carrots, and a caramelized onion and leek garnish. We couldn't finish our meals but looking forward to our leftovers! Oh they also start you off with a little bit of fresh bread that they make for each table as you sit down in the brickoven with oil for dipping! YUMMY! We will be back and im going to try the seabass next time! Highly recommend.More

There is a relaxed ambiance with friendly and helpful staff. Judy herself was there and was charming and informative. The menu thankfully is not huge, but has a wide variety of flavors and unexpected but delicious combinations. Marvelous desserts! The butternut squash soup is perfect!...The menu changes from time to time and I want to go back again and again to try more although I live about an hour away.More

The service and atomsphere was very good. The specials were also very good. The speckled hen next door is a good after work bar.

Imagine my excitement to try a new resteraunt when visiting Reading, PA. We checked Trip Advisor and made reservations at Judy's on Cherry. Nice atmosphere, food was average, service was below average, having to chase down a waitress and ask for things such as grated...cheese, bread and such is just DISAPPOINTING and totally ruined the experience. I thought menu was very limited, over priced and true disappointment.More

We were vacationing in PA with family for the holidays and looked up this place online. It had excellent reviews so we were eager to try it. Judy's did not disappoint! The building/restaurant was a beautiful and interesting setting. We ordered their specialty old fashion...and martinis. All were delicious! All four of us enjoyed our dinner and the service was superb. We will be going back again when we visit in the spring.More

We were impressed as soon as we walked in - such a pretty ambiance and all spruced up for the holidays! We were greeted right away by a friendly, smiling face and brought to our table. Drinks came out fast as well as our appetizers....Loved, loved, loved that Judy's offers GF options as well as Vegan options and their menu is clearly marked so you don't have to ask. They are also happy to accommodate special requests and make substitutions. Food came out cooked to perfection and we weren't rushed to leave. If ever in Reading and you're looking for a nice date spot or gathering with friends and family, this is the place.More

EXCELLENT. Will definitely go back again. Found out after we sat down at the bar(By our personal preference), that all Small Plates(appetizers) are half price from 5-7 PM on tues- Thurs. We were looking for appetizers anyway, so this worked out GREAT. We had our...choice of about 20 items from different cuisines, including vegan(I think). The bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful and recommended a Pinot Noir that my wife loved and we plan to buy next time we buy wine for home. And the desert selections(at least 10) all looked spectacular and the one we chose was OUTRAGEOUS.More

We chose a pretty chilly night to go out, and we were unfortunately aware of it while dining. Still, nice wine selection, specialty items included an amazing seasonal soup, and a vegetarian dish that was very tasty. Service is always good, and the usual items...(scallops) did not disappoint.More

There is no elevator that I'm aware of. If so, it's not visible in the public area.
