It isn't haute cuisine, but if you want some good solid home style food and a nice wait staff, you can't go wrong. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but they've been around since the 1960s. Just like Grandma used to make!

We normally get carry out. We will continue to ONLY do that. We felt like we were bothering the staff by being there. I guess cause we are not regulars. I got a salad, the bowl size was great but all it had was iceberg...lettuce, cherry tomatoes cut in half, cucumbers, tiny amount of cheddar cheese with crispy fries and chicken. For the price, I was super disappointed. He got the turkey devonshire. Not worth it, canned cheese and over cooked bacon. The place is dirty. The ceiling is gross. The light figures had what I hope was pop sprayed all over it. Sad this place has gone downhill. It use to be great.More

I have been going to Mohan's for at least 40 years. Food is good and not expensive. The vegetable soup is homemade and the best part is they sell it by the quart. I always bring some home.

We have been eating here once a month since we found out about this little gem. Their chicken is great and so is everything else that we have tried. Mohan's is #1 on our list of local restaurants. Give them a try, you won't regret...it.More

Last minute decision took us to Mohan's. We found the place greatly improved in appearance and in food since our last visit. Brighter and with televisions, it has booths and tables.Seated immediately by pleasant staff we were impressed by the diversity of the menu. We...ordered the zucchini appetizer(only $4.49) . Four long 1/4 inch thick slices of Zucchini arrived with Marinara sauce. They were crisp and tasty. Spouse ordered Eggplant Parmesan which came with a nice tossed salad. The slices were two large ones fried and then sauced and cheesed. I ordered a strawberry chicken salad with balsamic dressing. There were loads of green and black olives, hard boiled eggs, and and artichoke hearts. Mohan's is in the Enjoy and Entertainment coupon book (both with a seven dollar sayings). JoMarie was a very pleasant server and encouraged us to return.More

Great service! Need to get here early cause it fills up. They have a dinner of fried chicken that can't be beat. Prices are more than reasonable

After hearing about Mohan's for quite some time, we decided to stop in for a meal. Our kids are usually pretty picky and hard to please. However, they loved Mohan's food (one had chicken tenders and the other had an Italian hoagie) and they want...to go back. Now in all fairness that may be because they have a Pokestop there, but we will take it as they ate well! I have heard great things about the wings so I had the Cajun BBQ and garlic parm. Both tasted great and were cooked well. Their wings are the full wings and not split so a dozen was enough for multiple meals! Prices were reasonable and the service was great. We will be back!More

If you are looking for average consistent food, give it a try. If you want good service, go somewhere else. Servers are too busy yapping with each other to wait tables. We had to go to the bar to get our drinks and hunt for...the server to get the bill. Zero tip.More

I definitely am a wing lover and have been coming here for over 20 years. The wings and the seasoning are always 100%. I drive over 30 miles to eat here. There is nothing even close where I live in Westmoreland county. They are know...for their chicken and it is worth the visit. I have also had other menu items and no complaints there either. Good service as well. The bar staff is on the ball...More

Have you ever gone to restaurant, based on reviews, looking forward to what you hope will be a great dining experience, only to be really disappointed? This was the case with our visit to Mohan's yesterday evening (Wednesday night). As a bit of background, my...wife was having a very trying week at work, and on Wednesday night, we needed to be in the Penn Hills area to attend a funeral viewing of a friend's dad. Thus, I suggest that we go out to dinner after the viewing to enjoy and unwind. Since we live in the North Hills, and I was not familiar with the area, I did some on-line research and found Mohan's. Based on their website as well as numerous reviews it looked like the perfect place. A restaurant near the funeral parlor, known for several things we both love.....chicken, ribs, and burgers! Based on the reviews, my expectations were very high! Nothing I love more than great fried chicken & ribs! Unfortunately, this experience was no where close to great.....it was mediocre at best. We arrived around 7 PM. Mohan's is located in a strip mall of sorts, off of Saltsburg Road, with free parking directly outside the restaurant. The exterior of the place isn't much to look at, but once inside it looked just fine, with a mix of tables and booths. Once seated, we scanned the menu. My wife decided to have their award winning Angus Mushroom/swiss burger at $10.78 (with 2 sides) and I decided to have the fried chicken & rib combo, also with 2 sides, at $14.59. For sides we both ordered potato salad and cole slaw. The potato salad came first. It was definetely home made, but too much "Sauce" or "Salad" for both of our tastes. A short while later our entrees arrived. In all 3 cases....the burger, the ribs, and the chicken...they were all cooked 1-2 minutes to long. Not enough to send back, but enough to turn high expectation into high disappointment. Service throughout the entire experience was very fractured, from waiting about 4 minutes at the door to be seated(yes, I timed it....part of my previous restaurant experience which I'll mention below) to having to ask for our second side, which was the cole slaw, to not being asked if I wanted a refill on my coffee to having to ask for a refill on the water to not receiving at all the dinner roll (which I believe was supposed to be part of the meal). Going back to the burger, it was very large, but had clearly been frozen, and was now cooked to a "well done". The ribs and chicken were a huge disappointment. They also had been cooked a little too long, so that they had lost much of their juiciness. They were flavorful, but pretty dry, with the smallest drum stick I've ever seen.....much smaller than the fried wing on the plate. With the wings and chicken I received 2 "wet naps" for my hands, but they had been placed on the plate, and when served, were 3/4 covered in sauce. At the end of the night we received the bill, but waited about another 10 minutes for someone to come by and pick it up. In this case, it was not our waitress, but a young man who had been working the register who asked in passing. When I see how long Mohan's has been in business, and re-read all the earlier reviews I truly ask "how can this be?" Was it just an off night with the food quality? Was it just an off night with the mediocre service? Was it just an off night with the attention to detail? Perhaps. What I do know, as the manager and part owner of a couple of very successful restaurants in my past, an indepedependent establishment like Mohan's can't suffer too many off nights like this, for even though they've been around for about 52 years, if every night was like the one we experienced, they won't be around to see their 53rd anniversary. Overall, I'll give Mohan's an "Average" rating.....as the one cup of non refilled coffee was good, the cole slaw was decent, and the interior was nice, but if I was being truly honest, should probably rate it as poor as the food quality was just not there, the service was inconsistent, small things like the wet naps and attention to detail were missing, thus adding up to a less than satisfying experience.More
