This place is good but not great. My boyfriend and I went here on a whim because we were walking around the city and it looked nice. The atmosphere is so so. The floors are super super super slippery and our table was not sturdy whatsoever but the environment itself was hip. We tried the mahi mahi fish tacos with... More

The grilled salmon salad was absolutely scrumptious. Contained lots of vegetables, cheese. The chips and salsa were fresh. The wait staff were friendly. Wonderfully, great, fruity sangria complemented the meal.

My food was pretty much average. I would need to come back for another try. I didn't like the mango chipotle sauce that much. I'll be back and update my review. I did like the queso dip. That was pretty great!

In Market Square downtown, this place is kind of hidden. But it's there. Good service, and wonderful food. It's about double the price of what I pay at the Mexican place outside of downtown, but it's really the only Mex place in the city that I have found so far. The view overlooks the Square which is nice in the... More

Solid all around, nothing spectacular except their tequila selection. If they could open up those windows overlooking market square it would be a nice touch. Couple tvs to watch sports. The flaming lenguisa is a favorite.

We were visiting from out of town and planned to eat at this restaurant while on our trip. I just knew we would love it. After we gave our drink order a different server brought us each a cup of water (we had not requested water). My husband explained we did not order water and she said it was while... More

The food here was truly terrific and plentiful. The margaritas were the best I've ever had. The prices were very reasonable. It is located on the second floor. The food is authentic. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Pittsburgh!

Authentic Mexican food in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. Great value for your money and super tasty food. We try to eat here at least once a month before heading over to PNC Park! I would definitely recommend Las Velas if you're looking for a tasty reasonably priced meal downtown!

This is the best Mexican I have ever had, and I've been to Mexico. The staff is great and I found it nice that they recommended another dish when I was ordering the plain chicken tacos. The Tacos Checandole (pastor) are one of the best dishes. The chips and homemade salsa are a must.
