This was a very upscale dining experience for lunch. When I originally chose this spot, it was because I was expecting a traditional "Dim Sum Cart" experience. After arriving and seated I discovered was not the case. Their Dim Sum was served "A la Carte" which...More

As we travel, one of our favorite types of restaurants are ones that serve dim sum. Some of our favorite are in San Diego, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong,Toronto and Honolulu. Many places don't have decent dim sum. Sun Penang has decent dim sum. Sometimes it...More

Disappointing Sun Penang delivery experience this evening. Baba Ganoush and 2 orders of extra pita were missing. Crab Rangoon was tough and overly deep fried. Both entrées included shrimp, for which we paid an up charge. I've never had shrimp this mushy in my life....More

My SO and I enjoyed Sun penang as our date night one evening. We got three different types of dumplings, one soup each and fried calamari. The fried calamari wasn't anything to write home about although the batter coating was light, fluffy and salty which...More

We had a very good time at Sun Penang. Not a big fan of Chinese cuisine, but I thought the dishes we chose had lots of flavor and were very well done. We ordered a variety of dumplings as well as entrees with different proteins....More

The regular Chinese food is a little better than average, but you can step it up by asking for the "Tea Garden egg roll." The Tea Garden was an established Pittsburgh Chinese restaurant back in the Cantonese restaurant days, but had the world's best egg...More

We ordered food for takeout. They delivered it on time. It was all in one bag so that was nice. A lot of the food looked microwaved. We got the teriyaki, pork soup dumplings, Thai iced tea, a coke, egg drop soup and rice and...More

We had a variety of small dishes: shrimp dumplings, shrimp rice rolls, stuffed eggplant and spring rolls. Everything was good--nothing was bad--but I wouldn't say the tastes popped out at all. They did have some sauces that gave a good zip to the food and...More

Small dim sum restaurant in the city, the interior is nice and updated but limited seats. The first time I came here was on Saturday, the dim sums were freshly made, it was constantly busy when we came for lunch. Today I came back for...More

All dimsums are great. You may be there during your brunch and have some dimsum. Shrimp shumei is good, as well as beancurd skin roll. If you have some room left, try Hainanese chicken with yellow rice. Delish!
